Now that the number 2 and 3 riders for the first half of the mx series are hurt along with Tedesco, who is our best choice for the 3rd rider on the time. And if MIcky comes back for the last race should he be on the team??

JS 450 mx1
RV 250 mx2
Dungey bored out 250 or 450 mx3 (run what they want in the open class?)

Or do we stay with the tried and true Ferry or Short who may not be as fast as Dungey but are less likely to explode come race day?

Millsaps' shoulder was hurt in the first moto on Sunday. We'll have to see what his docs have to say.

I talked to Roger D. this morning, and he said the choice for the third rider is pretty unclear at the moment.

Yeah, if anyone has a question about who the first two riders would be, they haven't been paying attention to this season's races.

I'd be kind of surprised to see Mike ready for action before the beginning of September, so me may be done for the season...and that's before he's even seen his own doc at home for an evaluation.

At that point, do you sign him up as the third member of the team on Sept. 27-28?

yea looks like short or ferry would be good 3rd members and alternatives... can a MX2 rider ride the MX3 class????

JS
RV
AS

Shorty is consistent this year and could pull it off. The only thing is he's known for hating the mud, and in Europe it's like 80% chance there's gonna be mud.

I think that is what I want to see.

It would be cool if they could make a one off 350 or 300 for RV to race in the open class.

Ferry hasn't been that consistant this year, and Short really hasn't been that fast.

mx1 - stewart

mx-2 dungey

mx-3 villopoto, but keep him on the 250f. cuz hes still faster than 99% of those guys and he has way more experience on it

If JS is going SX only next year he can stay home as far as I am concerned.

RV for sure.

Ferrry for sure.

and then just flip a coin for the other top ten ten rider.

We would win for sure.

canard? i have to disagree there....some riders get hot near the end of the season so we'll see, but i just dont see TC being a good choice, id rather go with a verteran like ferry. just my opinion on that though...it will be interesting to see who goes.

i gotta admit though, after dungey's bike blew at red bud, he pushed the bike off the track, and then gave away his gear...talk about a good ambassador to the sport. he would also make a good choice...

Canard has demonstrated that he handles pressure well, and he gets better starts than Tim.
Tim's a good choice as well...

easy one's, Bubba and Villo...... rider three, i say- RC!!! And if RC isn't willing to blow a weekend racing a real mans sport, then send Canard. Yes, Canard! At least that kid will give 100000%....

I think RC could get in shape for it as he has time. The dude's an animal. But, I also think it would be a must for him to make the last two or three Nationals to brush up on the actual racing and getting the gate drops down. The decision would have to be made soon! Don't see it happening!

The only downside to having Stewart, Poto, and Ferry as a team would be the politics- they're all on Kawasaki's. I would imagine that some of the other mfg's would not be overly excited about an all-green USA team.

The press conference interview with RV was interesting, he noted that this might be the last time he gets picked for the MXDN, as he'll be in James's class next year...

Scott, I'd guess that there is very little chance for Villopoto to ride anything other than a 250f at the MXdN.

I'd think his new team for '09 has it contracted that his 450f debut has to be on their bike AND in the United States. But I'm just guessing.

Dungey could ride the 450 pretty easily in MX3 id say after his supercross showing plus he would have 3 weeks to test on it too, Ferry would be good too but iv seen him ride so Id like to see Dungey on a 450
7/8/2008 5:08am
MX1 Stewart
MX2 Villo
MX3 Dungey on the 450

RC at least needs to be asked. He did say he would always ride the MXDN as long as he was asked.

If not him, then Ferry, or Windham.
7/8/2008 7:17am
RV on whatever Cairoli is riding......I can't stand that guy, and any opportunity to see him get totally smoked should be taken with both hands.

I'd have to say RV on the 250f in the mx3 class would be the best choice for the team though. With JS on 450 and J-Law on the 250F
