He really should ride the nationals. I get the feeling it's an attitude of "either I win or I won't race". He could use the whole summer to learn about the bike, set it up, etc.

Get out of the contract, get a KTM 250SX, put on a 300 kit or mod it, and get back to his roots is what he should do. His career really got screwed by the change to the four strokes. Time to rebuild and have fun, probably gain some new fans too.
yeah that 24 and 0 outdoor season really screwed it up, and the 2 supercross titles,

and big bore KTM's are the answer, because they have such a great winning record,

i love riding 2 strokes, and loved watching the turbo era in formula one as well, but seriously, get the tin hat off,

Oh, and if I fuck up something, I will just blame it on my tools. Woohoo Tongue
James must be in an union.

Toyota owns part of yamaha. Anyone who thinks they were going to Suzuki is crazy.
Yamaha has made car engines for Toyota, Ford & Volvo. Toyota & Yamaha both own shares in each other. Toyota owns approx. 5% of Yamaha & Yamaha owns 1 mil shares of Toyota. These are minority ownerships, IMO not enough for Toyota to dictate what brand bike JGR rides. So many of these companies are intermingled somehow, just because you can draw one relationship, don't think there aren't other relationships that would support JGR riding another brand.

How exactly is he stroking the fans?

And why should he do what others think is best for him?

Ride a bike with no recent seat time and risk further injury. And is he even completely healed up yet?

There are a lot of assumptions going on and the fact that people talk like they know what he should or shouldnt do is funny.

He is his own man. If you dont like it go root for some one else.
Stroking the fans, where do I start?
Last year all the hype of him racing a few nationals?
Releasing videos and tweets about how great the new team is.
Videos of him wakeboarding in the summer.
I love James, but really all he does is stroke the fans.

Ride a bike with no seat time?
If you believe the message boards he rode a RMZ all summer. That was less than a year ago.
He has four weeks to get his shit together. Four weeks is plenty of time for the fastest man on the planet to get ready.
No better way to test than to do it under race conditions. Dungey at the MEC?

He signed the contract, nobody forced him, if he is bailing on it six months in, then he is a bitch. Says alot about a person when they don't honor a contract.

James likes to tell everyone how he loves and respects his fans, but really all he does is piss on them. One day he says he is hurt, and will keep all his fans updated, then you don't hear jack from him. Dont throw the tweets out if your not going follow up.

James is great with the fans when he is winning, when shit goes south, you dont hear from him at all. He has to understand the fans that like him, don't just like him cause he wins. I love his style and the way he sees things differently on the track than other guys do. He has done things on a sx that neither Ryan will do, it may not always be faster, but it is definantly cool to see.

Personally I think the pressure got to him, and if in the back of his mind he is thinking the Suzuki is a better bike, then he will do nothing but fail on a Yamaha.

He will have 8 month to get that Suzuki ready for Anaheim. Wish he would just pull a 338 and disappear till he is ready to race again.

James, don't go away mad, just go away, and come back and be the 259 James "Bubba" Stewart.

Yep, all us dummies on the keyboards who questioned why he would get back on a Yamaha again know nothing. Sounds like he would have been happy if he took our advice and got on a Suzuki, but what do we know? Any moron would have told him to stop and think what you thought of the bike last year and why you think anything will be different a year later. Ego gets in the way. Now we see that all the ballyhooed hype of what JGR can do to a bike compared with the fools at L&M has played out and it is same Bat-time, same Bat-Channel only with a different year and a different Yamaha supported team. The irony that the only reason James went with JGR over Suzuki is the 3 year deal compared with 1 year is a hoot now that he is trying to get out less than 6 months in. Such a lesson on how NOT to handle a career, whatever it be in. He spent months riding a Suzuki apparently negotiating the whole time only to switch it up at the last minute due to greed and come in way underprepared. On top of everything else, Suzuki now has more bargaining power as he really has no other choices. Will his stated career goal for 2013 be dropped down to catching RC in SX wins as opposed to MC?

Don't forget the MEC press release in June/July and then the no show.

Anyway, the single biggest shame in this entire situation is that it appears to be ending in this fashion for JS7. I readily admit he was one of the best. What a way to end a career.

James on a factory zook will be tough to beat. He could resurrect his career and get his confidence back...and then some.

MEC press release was released by MEC.

As much as every one keeps saying once Stewart gets off Yamaha he will instantly start winning again people have to understand that it is not only the bike it is in his head. Many people have stepped off Yamaha with their new design saying that it can't win but that is not the only thing. The backwards design has won 2 outdoor championships and a Supercross championship in Australia so it does work in a racing situation.

For Syewart to start winning again he has to sort his head out first. Everyone has stepped up their game and Stewarts head cannot understand why he can't win with ease so he pushes the limits more and this leads to his countless crashes. If he were to work out how to step up his game to match Reeds and Villopotos pace without riding over his head he may start winning again but until then i can only see crashes and excuses on why he can't win
Best thing I have read in this thread...I think that Brandon Layton's passing ruined it for this guy because he would have challenged JS more growing up. He is amazing, always has been and prolly alwyas will be. He has always been a winner...easily right! He didn't even use a trainer until big bike MX...even teased Aldon about spanking RC on a sx track after eating powdered dognuts.

What I have noticed..and when Ive brought it up I get chastised through the years but he can't handle loosing. We saw glimses his first season the last racen crashing three or for times, then I noticed when RC started inching away his first year in bigs MX he pulled off with some strange stomache issue, saw it when RD and the Panda gave him fits when he hopped into MX and then wouldn't do any more motos....I really think he hates to loose and underestimates his competition these days...bike color might help a little but if Barcia passes him on a yellow bike what will happen?

He has a better shot on a Yamaha or even Cannondale than he does at NASCAR.

I hope JGR cut him loose so Davi can get even more support, what ever form it may come in. He's the star of that team.

Even if he gets 2 to 3 tenths on the zuk these guys will kill him with consistency and whos to say that crazy red head won't wick it up putting one of these hooligans in a chair? Barcia's gonna be hard to get around to if he preps like he did for the east...I think Reed made a mistake embarassing him in Europe when he gobbled up that hard fought lead win when Barcia faded.

No way i don't care what color he's on he is getting more than a couple tenths on these guys....scrubs and corner speed are the norm now and therefore he's racing on tracks made of kryptonite if his heads not right and he dances with 6th place finishes

If you had to pick the fastest guy on a dirt bike to complete your all-star team, would you pick Bubba on a bike that he felt comfortable(fast) riding OR would you pick Villopoto?

In case you guys haven't figured it out there are no top contenders left in the field because they all crashed out trying to stay in touch with RV. RV is the man. The nonbelievers can rip me all you want. In the end it's all about scoreboard so if you dont like it go suck it. RV is the obvious choice here.

connotatively, or denotative?

What if your cross-generational semantics fail to elicit a response worthy of your liking?
