Here is where I'm at so far. Painted the frame black and will put black frame tape on instead of the gray stuff that's on there now. Just waiting on the Scalvini pipe that should be here next week. I know black rims would look good but don't really feel like spending the money on them. Motor is done by Gorr, first real ride tomorrow.
Who made the seat cover? I love it!
It's an SDG but you have to order it from decalworks, I couldn't find it anywhere else so I'm thinking they got some covers made specifically for them.

I always liked the way these bikes looked:

I can't seem to find a picture of it... but the Team Subway Suzuki privateer team a few years back had some cool bikes. I think Ted Campbell rode on one.

If someone could find a picture, I'd be much obliged.
I am pretty sure that team was on hondas with white plastic.

here is mine.....up next is powder the frame blue, and have my graphics guy make me Full Floater swing arm decals

What about a powder coat blue swing arm with the Full Floater decal? I have never seen that.
That might be cool, might put a blue decal in it to see what it look like before i powder it. I found a guy that coated my daughters BMX race bike and he will do my frame for $80

These were posted in Old School moto a few weeks ago.. 'pete24' did them up for a customer of his. I am in love with this bike.

Wow, I definitely need more info on this one. Are those some 96-98 forks?!

Yes, the builder said it wasn't a perfect bolt-on.. I would have stuck with the USD's - not that attached to 80's tech. I just love the blue frame & motor, and simple, clean graphics.

If I ever finish working on This Old House I plan to do the same with my '01 RM125.

No sorry I don't. The guys who owned it & like 12 RM250's in 2010 when they built that one are both in their early 40's & indentical twins & they are blazing fast. Ive known them since they were like 15yrs old & they were fast then too! Right now they are both riding YZ125's in the vet expert & expert class & hurting peoples feeling every wk back here in NE when they blow by guys on 450's on their 125's. The only guy who can beat them in the 40 plus expert is John Dowd & that's it.

I bought that bike (& a few other RM250's of theirs) in 2010. The motor was done by a guy in Florida & while it was really good it wasn't not nearly as fast or easy to ride as my current RM250. The forks were AWESOME! So I found a pr on ebay & put them on my bike too.

The conventional forks we all used were 1998 RM125,250 forks. If you plan on doing it ONLY get the 1998 125 or 250 forks because the have the newer style internals & are very much like the forks we are running today & the 98 forks have least amount of underhang below the axle & you'll have an easier time getting parts for them. They work great & are really much better action wise than my stock or my kit Showa USD forks.

Mike, you need to put a cpl of washers under the rear 2 holes of the fender to space it correctly. I didn't like the way that the 2011 fender tipped way down in the front when we first put it on so I spaced it so it would look like it followed the contour of the tire better. Just my 2 cents :-)
Thanks.... I'll check it out today. Prepping both bikes today for a race on Sat
--- I'll compare my RMZ to the RM fenders

BTW--- your RM looks kick a$$ too.

Any before and after pics of your shaved side plates (side by side). I was gonna shave mine, but I couldn't wait and threw on my new backgrounds for a race 2 weeks ago

I have always liked gold rims on the RM. I think black would look good with the graphic scheme that you have on there, but I still think gold would look awesome too.

Finally broke down & bought a real handmade coned pipe from Scalvini. They are made by hand in Italy & they are works of art! Had many choices for the silencer from them but decided on going with the full carbon fiber one for the bling factor. These things are works of art & I raced it yesterday & they both worked awesome on the track too :-)
