It wasn't the tears that impressed me. Nor will I attempt to defend his actions. Like you, my kids always knew that dealing with Dad would be more difficult than anybody else. If you look elsewhere at my other postings you will see that I would have been harsher than the AMA ever was. With that said, they gave the punishment that they felt appropriate. So he will have to do the time, so to speak. I was more evaluating his comments and body language than a few tears. He also isn't running from his actions (he is on pulmx tonight). Its just my humble opinion, that he grew up. I for one am willing to move on and give him the benefit of the doubt that he will get it right in the future. Kind of brings to mind an old expression. "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water". I think that rule applies in this case at this point in time. Future behavior obviously could dictate a different result.

I think Barcia is sincerely sorry for the entire situation. He shows that. Regardless of Vincent's not pulling over, he was the one that made the mistake of roosting Roczen and Bodner/Vincent. Now he has recived the concequnces of that action. Everyone makes mistakes, he has owned up to his. I think he will mature as a rider and person from all of this.

The only thing I can think of that would be going through Vincents head was that he wanted to stay on the lead lap so he had one more lap to make up some positions....but even that is no excuse.

Actually, we were watching the Toronto practice and did see Barcia yelling at Vincint for slowing him up in the corner after the whoops. It was really weird as Barcia came up on Vincent and followed him, Vincent followd the natural line to the inside and squeezed him in, then Barcia started yelling at him ?? Vincent yelled back and off they went.
We were totally thinking something was going to happen in Toronto as Barcia did lap him in the main, but he just let him bye....

Who was he racing? He was essentially all by himself (besides Barcia)...When he's battling with the leader, he's not battling for position....he's getting in the way.

I enjoy amateur motocross almost as much as I do watching the pros so I have watched Barcia since he was a kid on CR85s and I have had the same feelings about him as you do. Even as a pro I have watched him pull so many stupid and uncalled for "stunts" that it has sealed the deal for me also.
I wonder if Vincent had stood up and came at him if he would have ran away like a little girl like he did in Bercy?Laughing

The only thing good about him getting a $5000 fine is that it goes to a good cause.

Barcia will be the next James, if he lives through it, by not hurting himself with his stupid moves, or having some one he pulled a dirty move on kick his but for him. He has a good chance of missing a race, by getting his ass kicked by a privateer. They have nothing to lose. He will win races, but he will have problems. He already has previous fans that don't like him now. He has fans that like him also. But in my opinion, he is just getting more dangerous. He can pass those lappers anytime he wants, cleanly, but he screws with them. Sometimes they get hurt. There is no need. When you are going for it with the top guys, it's different. But when you screw with them, you're just an arrogant asshole. Ever see Windam or Ricky do that shit? I was a Barcia fan. My son raced with him on 80's. I'm glad he didn't perfect his dirty tactics back then or my son would have kicked his ass. Watched him over the years and pulled for him, but not now. I believe his intention was payback for the other guy getting in his way, and it bit him on the ass instead. When you are that far ahead, you shouldn't be screwing with people that shouldn't even be there in the first place. James pulled the same stuff,and look at him. The Barcia regime I suspect may be short lived. I for one, as a former fan, am not a fan anymore. And about his apology, he would have been better off not to have it filmed and shown on the web. An apology while laughing does not seem sincere to me.

I agree. Vincent needs to stay out of the way. Barcia was in the race line, and Vincent went from the inside to the outside and clipped him. Big mistake on Vincent's part IMO, but Barcia let his emotions get the best of him. I'm sure he really is regretting it now, and he will learn from it.

Of you're lapping someone, you should be able to get around them cleanly and pull away. Barcia made the pass then slowed up.

And Vincent was racing for position. There's a guy on a Yamaha a couple seconds ahead of him at the start of the Barcia/Vincent footage.

Barcia is pretty much the dirtiest, wildest rider out there. For him to bitch like that when it happens to him is hilarious. He needs to get the shit slapped out of him. Judging by KR and BBs reactions, they probably won't too scared of ole Barcia anymore.

Can't wait to boo the f*** out of Barcia in Vincent's home state.

Here is why I think you and Peely are wrong.

Vincent was out of the race line when Barcia went past him, and was trying to stay out of the race line. Barcia thought he was further ahead of Vincent then he was when he crossed over to the right, Vincent had nowhere to go. Even if Vincent had gone straight they would have come together since Barcia slowed to make the turn. Vincent had no options since Barcia crossed over while Vincent was committed to the double-I think Vincent turned left in an attempt to miss Barcia.

And, as Nielsen said above, Vincent WAS racing for position.

Barcia is a cry baby. He is a spoiled ass kid who doesnt have any regard for what the hell he is doing or who it effects.

Once the bully gets bullied, he will learn his lesson. Watch

Sad part is he is a hell of a rider and has a shot at some championships. But his piss poor attitude and poor sportsmanship will make folks think less of him.

Hey Douchebag, he probably didn't care too much about Vincent because Vincent caused it! I swear it's like most of the people on here have never rode or raced an MX bike.

Are you telling me that Vincent didn't know that the leader of the race who was lapping him was behind him for half a lap? You're being lapped get out of the way and don't slow the progress of the leader what so ever! In a 15 lap lights race that means that you are much, much slower then the leader!

I couldn't care less who won that race, but to critisize Barcia for loosing it after getting taken out by a lapper who was holding him up for half a lap is lame. He reacted unprofessional and unacceptable for sure and rightly appologized for doing so, but the one at fault and who should also appologize is Vincent. He is not without fault by any stretch! Half a lap WTF?

The punishment should also fit the crime. In that regard, I think that the call for a lynching by some of the mob here is going a bit too far. What you call a spoiled brat mentality, others call getting caught in the heat of the moment with no intentions of endangering anyone else or an attitude of self-entitlement. It's all about perspective, after all, your kids look like spoiled brats compared to a child that does slave labor for only pennies a day and has to work 7 days a week. Why don't you toughen your kids up the next time they do something wrong, put them to work for little to nothing, and essentially make them your slaves? The answer is that you are a decent person, recognize harsh punishments are not needed to rid your children of their spoiled brat mentality, and can draw a line between a crime and its punishment. Barcia made a mistake, he recognized his mistake, he admitted that it was unprofessional, he apologized and he was fined for actions. That should be the end of it. But with some of you, it's not the end, you want more punishment. Who has the spoiled brat mentality now? It's those who can't accept Barcia's apology, and move on.

Now if Barcia does something along these lines again, I would probably be more inclined to agree that he needs to be penalized in greater force.
