This has been a fun project and I've enjoyed chasing down parts. Nothing was too much work except the sidepanels. I found a left NOS in Australia and a decent used right one on ebay in the UK. I got an Up Tite racing pipe that is in excellent condition. Going to start tearing into the motor tonight.

Very cool bike. The tank still looks nice and white in that pic. Is it the original?

I used to race one of those.Bought it from Ghost Motorcycles in Port Washington NY.I raced it in Bridgehampton,Englishtown etc. It had a great mid and up motor.Very reliable.Handled well but,never did get the suspension set-up correctly. I also got most of my injury's on that bike. I should look in the garage for parts.

I think I have one like that but the engine # starts with an 87'. Does that mean itsa na 87' I was told it was an 88 and the frame # matches an 88.

im having a midlife crisis and have just bought a running wmx 250 and one for parts to re-live my youth!!! also i got another box with various parts in it which il post up on the cagiva wmx facebook page, does anyone know where i can get a set of forks and a new spring for my rear shock??

JT...It has to be an 88. They didn't sell a 250 in 87. Pekka Vehkonen raced a red factory 250 in 87 but the production bike didn't come out until 88 and was white. My engine number starts with 87 too...probably when the 88's were produced at the factory.

Peemester...I messaged you on fb, I'm trying to find a new or good usable crank for my project.

Forks are easy to find on ebay because the White Power 4054 forks were used for many years on ATK's, Husky's, and KTM's. A lot of guys also bought them as aftermarket forks in the mid/late 80's and mounted them on Japanese bikes. I found a almost new pair that came off an 86 YZ 250.

wpark. i cant see any message on fb. my user names peemster gault. get in touch matey i may be able to help you out. got 3 boxes of stuff to look thru theres a couple of cranks in there. will have to see if they are useable. no forks on ebay the now but il keep looking. think my bikes a 1989 or 90 ?? think they turned to husky about then if im right, any way look forward to hearing from you Smile

My (slow) work-in-progress project (and 'yes' that's an Ohlins rear shock rather than the stock WP version).

I've also got an '87 125 and '89 250. Finding parts is indeed a fun exercise, but worthwhile in the end. I built www.cagivaracing.com a few years ago, which some of you might be interested in.

AK,

Thanks for the parts pdf you emailed me last fall.

Do you have any idea if the '88 crank is interchangable with anything else? There are a lot of different part numbers for Cagiva/Husky cranks from '88-'96 and I'm curious what other years might work in the '88.

My buddy rode for them back in the day and got the year old factory engines to put in them.

I also have a cagiva wmx 250 with a up tite racing exhaust and up tite heads its a 89' but the exhaust has rusted and one of the exhaust springs fell off do you have any idea that size springs that that exhaust uses and your side panels look new i cant seem to find them any where... any ideas
