The only thing Ferry has done with that 125 is make fun of 2-strokes with it. The video he made with the guy on the rmz450 was all a joke against 2-strokes. It was humorous, but he has no intention of doing anything serious with 2-strokes and racing.

What about people not being impressed by those not being impressed? And what about those not being impressed, by those not being impressed by the initially not impressed? The clicks just keeps growing! Wink

Yeah, i think it is cool. And as for the post of the results, and the statement explaining why he is a has been, what is wrong with winning the vet class, especially if he was riding the 125. I think its awesome he is still riding and racing, just because he loves it.

It was setting these results up. I knew it was coming, take a joke. Does not surprise me. I could cure cancer tomorrow and a vital members would find reasons to attack.

If that is at my post, then, wow, you are touchy. It was hardly an attack, more of a question. Again, why is winning the vet class make him a has been? Do you think he should be racing A/Pro class? Maybe I just dont get this thread. I think Ferry was great to watch ride/race, and did it the hard way for a lot of his career.

Well this brings up that question of should ex professionals be able to compete against amateurs?
Is this really fair or safe for either skill levels?

I've always been impressed with Tim Ferry. Not just as a rider but as a stand up guy without an ego. He won a 125 east sx title, represented team USA as a MXON class and overall team winner, 2nd twice oudoors 250/450. He's one of the very few riders to ever lose a factory ride and regain one, not once but twice!! He raced against the three most dominate riders ever(RC4, King MC, @ JS7) and faired pretty damn well in one of, if not the most competative eras in motocross/supercross racing history. I'm sure he did alright for himself financially in a career that spanned 19 YEARS so I guess he had to of been pretty damn good to last that long. Red Dogs the shit!
Cool

Timmy Ferry is one of my "brushes with fame".

The supercross was in Minneapolis. It was Saturday morning. I went out to eat at Perkins in Edina, MN. While I was waiting in line, I noticed that the guy in front of me was wearing a big blue Yamaha jacket.

Being a Yamaha dude myself, I asked him if he rode or whatever. He turned around and said yes, and asked me if I rode, and what, and was I going to the supercross tonight. I said yes, yes, and more yes. He asked if I was racing; I said something to the effect of "no way, I'm Vet C dude; I'm going to watch!". It wasn't until that point that I recognized him and realized I was talking to Tim Ferry!

His crew had already been seated, and he stood and talked with me like a total equal while I asked him my "insider questions". I got his autograph, he shook my hand, and I smiled the rest of the day. How many times has he had to deal with people like me asking him the same stupid questions?

It was very cool, he seemed like a humble dude who enjoyed his profession.

Anyone remember him taking it to Ricky that day?

Hint: He's from Florida, he has red hair, and his initials are Tim Ferry.

I personally think it's fine, and it's good for the sport the more former pros come out for these vet classes at LL. Besides, most of the guys in them were/are pros anyway, the only restriction is age and not skill. Sucks for us mortals, but I guess we can continue to bask in the glory of the Vet B/C class at our local Chicken Licks raceways around the country...

I guess it balances itself out:

It`s not fair as Ferry is FASSSSSSSST

It`s not safe as Amateurs may take out Ferry unintentionally
