I can only imagine what your post said before you edited it.

Sorry. I probably should have added that I agree with you about a couple guys making one main will bring 2 strokes back. Wont' argue about that.

At any rate, good luck to both riders!

I can't make it to Daytona this year, so I'll pledge my race day beer money.
$100 for making the main.
$25 if you make the night show and get a little TV time.

Funny thing, i was in the nonmoto section ta few weeks back and one of our fellow vitalmxers was talking about how he had just lost his house and job, and nobody offered to help him one bit. They just told him to suck it up and get another job. Funny how everyone is ready to give money to help fund strangers hobbies', but won't do the same when it comes to helping somebody put food on their plate and a roof over their head.

I'm in. For how much at the moment I don't know yet. The funds appropriation committee (aka the wife) will be sending it. She still can't figure out why I am sending a privateer rider money just for riding a 2 stroke but she doesn't argue about it either.

question for the masses on this. I understand life has it's hardships and the economy doesn't make it easy but losing your job and then your house? Hate to be a cold fish here but after the whole house bailout bullshit from several years ago I will never give my money away to a bleeding heart story like that again. People in that position bring themselves to that position!!! My wife and I got married, saved money, lived cheaply, rarely ate out for dinner, and planned for bad times. They never happened for me since I work my ass off at my job in order to be the LAST ONE OUT THE DOOR IF THE PLACE CLOSED DOWN! Fortunately it never happened and we weathered the storm. OTHERS however overspent themselves and the govt had to bail them out. My question is WHERE THE HELL IS MY HANDOUT FOR LIVING WITHIN MY MEANS, SAVING MONEY TO BUY A HOUSE I COULD AFFORD, AND WORKING MY ASS OFF AT MY JOB TO MAKE DAMN SURE I HAD ONE?????

Bottom line is it is my money to spend and I have earned it the hard way by working and saving for what I want. I want to give some money to a privateer for going against the grain for the fun of it!!! FUCK YOU GUYS for criticizing anyone who spends their hard earned dollars on what they want!!!

ok, I'm better now... rant over.

I know some people want to know who pays, but it really doesnt matter and quite frankly its only between the rider and the supporters. I know there are several reputable people here who have offered support and will pay.

On a side note, I hope nobody thinks I was posting the names and amounts because I was trying to pressure anyone. I was making an impressive list so we could get a rough idea and create some excitment with everyone in one place. The ones who did not put an amount did so for a reason and that is up to them and may not be anyones business. No loss if they didnt put a number or pay. I think thats quite a list for those who are willing to "speak with their wallets"

Bottom line... Let's see Ricky tearin it up on the 125. I really hope he makes the main. That would MAKE Daytona for me. Any Pro race for that matter.

Wow you make my $125 for a main on his 125 look like peanuts.

The paypal is in renners original thread.

Just through popular support we could easily sponsor a rider through donations. All we would have to do is hold off our money until the rider follows through by showing up, qualifying, or making the main. I hope the best for the guy and will eagerly be awaiting to see what happens.
your $125 is worth more than the money itself considering you sort of started this whole donation thing!

I agree on the popular support thing. I am willing to run a pot for the year based on results. It might encourage a local fast guy to come tear it up when he would otherwise only see it as an expense. Ricky's day might be paid for up front at this point? If hhe makes the main he could use the money to do more.

There was some good advice given in the thread and then there were the typical jackass remarks. That persons ordeal has been going on for years now and a few dollars here or there won't help his dilemma. From the info he gave his burned out house with no running water or electricity most likely needs to be demolished and rebuilt which he has no money for. The property around the house from his description is a mess and didn't get mowed until the city came and mowed it. He owes back taxes and fines. He's unemployed and the economy in his area obviously is not helping his quest. He needed to make some major decisions. He probably qualifies for government housing assistance at this point with the exception of one thing.....he owns a burned out house.

As far as Renner and Daytona.....unless he pulls a Dowd at Hangtown in the mud he probably won't be getting a ton of money. But if the planets align and we see his name up in the results I'll be happy to send some coin. If anyone who offered up didn't pay, well then there would be some calling out I'm sure.Wink

It has no moor in the from, the broken plastics on it, no suspension... The race bike will be ready Friday. But until it's ready it would be pointless to post a pic because it will look like a different bike.

Sorry guys
but i thought it took endless months of testing and suspension setup to get an actual "race ready" bike. bubba on is yamaha say this is the case, and he should know cuz he is on a blue bike himself. hell; all the teams now and days swear by this months of endless testing, up unto the final hours before the opener race.
and yes i am being a smarty pants; with a good bit of truth thrown in there.
