WOW!! What a week it has been leading up to last nights first Night National and also my first ride under the Factory Big Blue tent. Like many of you know I was able to get a little bit of riding on the bike on Tuesday but after that nothing until Friday nights practice sessions. I cant say enough to all the guys at Yamaha for a great opportunity with my situation. I struggled a bit to find my groove on the bike but everytime I got out on the track things kept getting better and better.

First Moto started off decent with about a 10th place start and looked at getting through to the top guys as quick as I could but made a bit of a mistake trying to get by Jeff Alessi that sent me flying off the track on lap 2, I got back on in around 16th or so and just knew that I needed to keep charging the whole Moto and good things would come of it. After about halfway I was able to get inside the top 10 but still was making up good ground on a few that were in front of me. The whole Moto the only thing I looked at was my times so when I got back to the truck I asked Dyno what I ended up and he says " Dont you read the board?" I said well yeah but all I was focused on my times and to get as far up the ladder as I could by the end of the race. So after all was said and done I ended up coming through to 7th. Not bad but still a little off of where I want to be especially with how well I have been feeling on and off the bike.

Now the time came to race completely under the lights. I ended up going to the same gate as Moto 1 and it cost me quite a bit, I got shut out a bit and shoved back going into turn one and rounded it in like 28th or so. Yet again my head was down to keep pushing to the front. I was able to make my way past quite a few guys on lap one, I still didnt feel that great though in the opening laps and felt that I could have gotten around a few more a bit quicker than I did but those are things that I can work on(or not with a good start). So there I was again by midway back into the top 10 and gaining but just couldnt really see all that well when I was getting roosted and because of such a poor start I was out of tearoffs with 5 laps still remaining and felt that if I would have had a bit better vision then things may have ended a little different but 8th was what we finished and that gave us a 7th overall on the night.

Overall thoughts of the whole weekend I think it was great and can only get better and better. Many were a little skeptical with the lighting and I was one but I think this gave the fans a different perspective and allowed more to come and ejoy the races, not just the average Moto fan either, there was a good variety of spectators out watching the races. Now as for the me and the bike and Team, I think it can only get better from here. I just need to get back on the bike and put more time in on it and plug away with some settings with the handling and just adapt more so that all is where we need it to be. I cant say thanks enough to Andy Stacy and GL for what they have provided me to get to where I am now and if one would have asked if I thought I would be racing a factory bike let alone GL's with his injury I probably would have laughed straight in your face!! Thanks again to all who have been a huge part of my "revival" year and also to Dyno for coming out and spinning the wrenches. Also Keith, Mike and Jimmy at Yamaha, last but not least my Wife and my guy Ryan Fedorow for always keeping possitive things surrounding me and my racing.

Awesome! Great report and a great ride. With a little better start I'm sure you'll be top 5 consistently. The skies the limit.Looks like you are riding great and your fitness is there.More time on the bike will do wonders too, I'm sure. Keep on keepin' on Hamy! Keep moving toward that top 3.

Best part about your write up?? No excuse, I'm sick of everyone always leaving themselves an out in case they don't well. You said you felt good and thought you should do well. Just as easy could of said, well it's a new bike and we will be trying to find a good set up. Major props for kickin some ass out there.
I know you don't know or care, but years ago when Glen Helen had some night races on the Stadiumcross track, you told me how to hit this little double that was freakin me out. I over shot the jump... landed hard....ate shit.... You then came over while I was at my truck and asked if I was ok. Been a fan since......Good luck!!!

Hey Sean, great ride...was pulling for you the whole way. Up on the hill, it was kind of difficult to tell exactly who was who in the dark...maybe you should wear pink gear? You know, they say, if you are gonna wear pink, you BETTER kick ass!

It really was a great charge and keep bustin' butt out there.

Another good ride Sean. You've jumped to 8th in the points and only one point away from 7th. Keep it up and you'll be under to factory Yamaha tent for the rest of the year.

Thanks for posting your race reports!

It's really cool that a few top guys post once and a while. It really helps the fans connect to them. Think what a post a month from Reed would have done for his public opinion, turned it around completely I bet. Thanks Sean and good luck.

Cool report and it is nice that you tell it honestly. Good luck this weekend at REDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD BUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!

One question. You said that you are still running the TUF logo. I have not seen any pictures of you from this weekend. Do you have to follow Yamaha's "any color as long as it's blue" rules or can you wear any colors you like?

It was fine until you added the gay comment.

Congrats SH. With the attitude you have it will work in your favor, that is always half of the battle.

Nice Job Sean! I was "super pumped" to see your overall result! Keep plugging away and we will see you on the podium before the year is out.

Sean, you are a breath of fresh air under the Yamaha tent! You have a lot of fans cheering you on back here in Houston!

When you get a chance, tell the suspension engineer dude I apoligize some what for getting on to him at Freestone. When he came by to buy some ice from our truck (we sell ice at the track for charity), I gave him a hard time for not giving you support since he had so much spare time, being an engineer for just one bike (Hill) and all.

Thanks a lot guys for all the support and encouragement. I can only run the Blue gear but I was ok to have TUF still on my jersey, its right below Yamaha and Thor, I thought that was great for them to allow me to keep giving respect to Andy for all he has done. Also can wait to get over to his shope Thursday night for like an open house appreciation deal. Hope I will see a few of you there or even RRREEEEEEDDDDD BBUUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDD!!!!

I was wondering how your night vision was after Lasik, Sean. (Mine's okay, though I still get more halo on my left eye.)

Davi also mentioned after the race that he'd had a previous eye injury that makes it hard for him to see at night.

Yeah GuyB it was a little difficult to be honest but more so when I had dirt on my lense of my goggles, but there were a few Blinding sections for me anyway. I think it was a hit with the fans and with a bit more good lighting it can only get better.

Yep, I think everyone loved the big sets of lights, but weren't as crazy about the small portables brought in for fillers. A couple guys who I talked to said they were so low to the ground, they did add fill in some of the dark spots, but also ended up in their field of view.

In general it looked awesome on TV, but there were some spots that looked really dark
