I agree with your statement...the best thing about the situation is the rider didnt get hit. Personally, I think a fine should be issued just so this does not become more of a recurring issue. Even if that means both RD and RV are issued the same fine. Though I have heard the lights didnt go off until Dungey was already on the jump.

To be clear and accurate, the lights in the "corner" were yellow - NOT red. The flagger was waving a flag that was YELLOW - NOT red cross or red. The lights at the top of the jump were RED (not yellow). Confusing? I say so. RV tripled safely (luckily). The rider immediately behind RV singled all the jumps. RV = in title contention. Rider behind RV (i.e. lapper) was not in a title race. Remember at the end of the second heat? RV was so focused on his lines and racing he didn't even see the checkered flag, thus he kept charging until someone waved him down. If the lights in the corner were red, the lights at the top red, and the red cross flag out, then guilty. But 2 out of three warning signs were yellow and were not in agreement. As a result of the confusion, I can see why the AMA has done nothing. But hey, I'm not a conspiracy theorist either.

You're right those red flashing lights that he's starring at in the last frame I posted where he is not even to the face of the jump are totally confusing. Especially confusing after the "hey dumb ass there is shit going on up ahead" signs he got in the turn from the flagger and the corner light.

Fer Christs sake.....take 2 points from RV and be done with it. I think if he would of registered there was some red flashing lights going on before the take off....he would of gone for the safer route. But some of you guys think RV breaks all the rules and gets away with it.

If you have ever went to trial for running a Red Light then you know you can beat it depending on the position of your vehicle before the light turned red. Believe it or not, those type of tickets get dismissed often and are even more often won when taken to trial if someone feels they have an argument (just create some reasonable doubt).A cop can write you a ticket all he wants but it has to hold up in court that your intention was to run the red light,or a fair amount of negligence/disregard on your part (depending on the position of the vehicle before the light turned red). They have to be able to prove it in court. All you have to do is just create a small amount of reasonable doubt to win those type of cases.
And if you open your mouth to police in any type of situation like that...all you do is create more problems for yourself that they will use against you in court. Best to keep your mouth shut and hire a lawyer. lol

LESS THAN 3 SECONDS. Thats what JS lost rolling that section. And he finished about 17 seconds behind RV.

And JS had lost a bit of time the two laps prior to "flashing lights" lap.

I'm still not sure why everyone thinks Stewart and Dungey are the ones who should be protesting. The downed rider is the one who was endangered, he is the one who should be pissed about almost getting landed on. Trying to bend something like that to your favor points wise is BS just like the fuel scandal

He did jump it and finished second... If he would have rolled it he most likely would have finished second... He didnt gain anything by jumping it... However... He could have seriously injured himself or another rider by doing so... No championship is worth seriously injuring someone else n order to win it...

Rv ignored a yellow flag just a couple weeks ago n a whoop section n a main and damn near clipped a riders helmet.. does the ama or feld give a shit about preventing serious injuries? If so they need to start handing out some penalties..

Trust me....it's Sunday , I did a bunch of stuff here at the house today ( prepping my new work shop for my bike and all )......feeling a little run down from last night.......trust me....I'm chilled.

Anyways.....just saying that to all the guys who were griping pretty bad about what happened with the RV thing.......just take a mental note and subtract two points from the guy.....if the FIM doesn't. If RV wins the title by 1 point.....THEN come back and raise a shit storm.

That first set of lights were flashing amber, with the flagger holding a yellow flag. Is that standard leading up to flashing red lights at the top of the jump, or did this create confusion?
