I'd love to see Reed come back next year and get the championship and retire on top, but like DV12 said too many close calls...plenty of time to think things through now and do what's right for the Reeds
How many "close calls" has bubz had over the past few years? Nobody suggesting it's time for him to retire. Isn't he a "veteran" now?

Two words: Ellie, Tate.

Edit: I don't want him to retire, but you can't compare his close calls with Stewart's for the two reasons I listed above.

I really hope he will call it a career, that's 2 close calls in 6 months. Get rid of the team, it's a money pit anyway, and enjoy the family. Kids grow way too fast to be working 29 weekends a year +, when you don't have to...

man, everyone is acting like an ACL injury is the end of it all... 14 months to heal? A pro athlete, depending on the actual damage, could be back in around 6 months. It's not a devastating injury. Just cause you couch potatoes take longer to heal doesn't mean it will take a world class athlete the same time.

Everyone in America has that perception because of football and basketball. You cut all the time and put a lot of pressure on your knees. In those sports, yes average recovery time is around a year. In our sport, it's less recovery time. However, Reed has more than his ACL to worry about right now, so we'll see when he returns.

Guess what is also in the T6 area that he was using...

On another note. I'm 46 and just got released from my doctor to resume riding at three months out of ACL (hammy) surgery. I would assume that he could recover at least that fast.
GOD bless him though, it's no fun at all!
I think he was going for the old "neck brace caused his vertebra fracture" except Reed no longer wears one.

HAHA..I love his positive attitude...I quit serious racing at 30 when I had 2 kids and a new business..CR is in his 20's...but will click over 30 this year.

I have to say, this crash is a major major bummer to all his fans around the world...its not just him who's gutted...I hope he comes back soon 100% fit and healthy. The emotion he's going through now battling the disappointment will be very difficult to deal with.

Gnarly crash for sure. I hope he comes back, if not this year then next, and can remain competitive. I honestly wont think bad of him if he hangs it up though considering what he's been through in the last 6 months.

Chad also committed to Outdoors this year after his injury last weekend. All we need is K-Dub and you'd relive the early 2000's

Its highly unlikely he will make a full recovery and be ready for outdoors this season, if not impossible.

I broke five of those fin thingies on 4/19/2002 at Competition Park (anyone remember that place?). Much less severe than breaking the actual vertebrae or whatever but still VERY serious.
