I don't mind it. Looks better than the rumors that were floating around on here had initially indicated.

BTW - Where have I seen that Alias logo before? Didn't they used to play it at the beginning of the TGO videos or something. Looks familiar....

Geico wanted more control on what was on the gear (GEICO dominated) and Fox wasn't down with it so they created Alias.

The Fox Racing logo is one of the most iconic images of our sport. People who have never seen a dirt bike look at the Fox Head and know that it means. Without a doubt, Fox has done more to promote motocross than any other gear company. So for Geico Insurance to muscle Fox out at FC Honda so they can have .002cm larger chest logos to go along with the 57,489 logos they already have all over the bikes and pits is just ridiculous. Smart business decision by Geico? Maybe. A sign of things to come in this industry? Probably. But I say its bullshit.

Looks like a quick jeff surwall gear mock up and a lot of money for jeff for the logo placement that fox wouldn't give up so $$ made crazy this economy

Good for the team? Of course riders are getting paid why wouldn't they support it. Looks, Fox is way better let's be honest come on guys !

I was expecting better especially on the signage side of things. What Alias as done that Fox couldn't? I don't see a big change in logo sizing.
Anyway looks decent but a bit old.

Plenty of other new sponsors for the team in 2012 too. Just from the video I noticed...

Alpinestar boots
a return to Shoei helmets
ProTaper bars and sprockets
Oakley goggles
Muscle Milk
Yoshimura

any others?

That's exactly what I was thinking... I'm kinda feelin it actually. I like fox and have a ton of their gear but some of that shit looks like a crayon box threw up on it.

The logo looks exactly like the Mantis United logo.

Agree.

Kind of weird.
Or you could say the Mantis logo looks like the ALiAS logo? The Alias name and logo has been around for years... if you've ever seen a TGO movie you've seen it. Guess it depends who was around first.... below is a quick example (see the bottom of the box)

At the risk of sounding like DDouche - I think Bogle's one legged whips look absolutely retarded. There was a picture posted up here a few weeks ago of him absolutely pancaked. It would have been a killer shot except his stupid ass, lanky leg flailed out below. Drives me nuts.

And before people say "You can't do it - it's just stylish!" You're right, I can't throw a flatty with my leg sticking out at a 90* angle, but the reality of the situation is I would never want to. Just because you're whipping it flat doesn't mean you look cool doing a one footer.

unless you're paying All State or Progressive for your insurance. Geico should give a set to all mx rider who purchase insurance from them.

it was just one of the many company name Surwall registered in case he'd find some use to it. He must have used it to finance TGO somehow. He's tight with FC for historical reasons and when Geico decided they couldn't get what they wanted form Fox or whoever else they approached, Surwall decided to go for it. He already had the name, found some old designs he must have had on his desk for a years and pulled it out.

The gear's not great, it's not terrible, but I wouldn't choose it. Considering the big deal that was made about Geico wanting more ad space or whatever.... I was expecting just massive Geico logo's everywhere, but it doesn't look majorly different too the Fox gear!?

I was expecting something MUCH better than this.

Unless it's some new type of fabric that moves with the rider or breathes better, it's no big deal. I certainly was not thinking is was going to be the same 'ol retread stuff. I feel kinda let down.

I was expecting the same. One giant Geico logo on the chest, Geico down both sleeves full lengths, and gecko lizards absolutely everywhere.

I like it. It's clean and functional. No "shower curtain" look that's been so prominent in recent years. But, ...I'm old,...and old enough to remember when things made sense in this sport.
