What if its dusty? Won't that really screw up the riders vision in the lights?

Backup generators in place I hope?

Power going out while in the air over the big jumps could be very much bad!

I still think this night race thing is a dumb idea. Just imagine the shadows in the deep ruts with kickers in them! Pinch

I don't think its going to be a problem. That place will be lit up like the Vegas strip.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking about. No matter how well lit it is, there's still going to shadows all over the place. I think it's going to make things a little more risky.

While I'm no national rider, I've raced red bud's night sx during the national weekend for the last several years and it's not too bad IMO. Should be interesting to see.

There are a lot of tracks around here that race at night. Their lights suck...and people still seem to make it around them.

I think it's a horrible idea. I hate racing under the lights. No matter what, vision will be a problem somewhere on the track.

I believe that it will be something new for the riders and the fans. There is a small track that runs night races and there lighting sucks and there isn't many shadows

They had 4 of the Musco units at Daytona in addition to the regular Daytona lights....might have been 6. Each one has it's own power supply.

I wonder what they cost to rent for a week?

Slapout gran Prix did the night thing, so did Dixie MX in Ozark, there will always be dark spots and shadows where you are riding on feel instead of vision. The really bad spots are jump faces in shadows with the light shining in your face.

I guarantee you they will not drop the ball. Lighting will not be the issue....not on the track at least. This is not rocket science. It a phone call and more money. They will need a shitload of the smaller units for the parking lots and pits.

Believe me, most of the night tracks I've raced have much worse lighting than this and it's never an issue. I realize the speed they have is much faster than at a local race but I'm sure top pros that are young and have good eyesight will be able to adjust.

Really? That's crazy! Why not end it an hour earlier and kill the light idea.

Freeston's amature track is lit so well, you can see as well as day time. It is doable.

I still think ruts will be a concern. Maybe they'll go out with a dozer between races and knock them down. They normally wouldn't, but you normally can see in the bottoms of the ruts, too.
