Elka Yadkin Valley Stomp GNCC in Yadkinville, North Carolina

From: http://www.racerpress.com/newsmanager/templates/?a=884&z=5
Scott Summers' factory Husqvarna team is bringing in Heath Voss for the weekend. The former World Supercross Champion tried an AMA National Hare Scramble with the team last weekend in Pennsylvania and liked it, so he'll try a GNCC this time, racing alongside Australian Glenn Kearney and former GP Motocross Contender Gordon Crockard.

I thought there were homolagation issues with the Husky.

I thought BMW owns Husky.

"Husqvarna Motorcycles NA, LLC -- part of BMW (US) Holding Corp. – announced a return to off-road racing competition earlier this year, after reaching an agreement with Scott Summers, Inc. to provide a two-man professional race team to compete in the GNCC Racing Series. The riders pilot 2008 Husqvarna TXC 450 off-road models in the GNCC’s XC1 class."

Husky is now owned by BMW.

Not sure about the homolagation issues, they have been racing Husky's in endure over in Europe for the past several years now. So racing them is nothing new? Not sure if thats what you meant.

Now that BMW is making a big push into off-road bikes, you are seeing improvements in Husky bikes as well. I don't know if BMW will puch Husky's MX bikes in the future, they really seemed focused on enduro right now.

If you trace Husky's lineage, can't they be traced back to Cagiva's?
Don't think they are Swedish designed anymore.

I think Cagiva was a merger deal back in the '80's.

Here are the results from today. Not sure if they got Voss's brand correct? Husky's finished 5th and 12th, not bad.

Why all the bagging on Huskys? Pretty nice bikes from what I've seen. The big 4 have made some real pieces of shit back in the day too, not anymore.

I thought Summers' team was running the Huskys until the BMW was ready?

That was the original plan but now they will probably end up keeping their Husky team and adding in BMW's.

They had the BMW race bike at the Kentucky round 3 weeks ago but it just sat in the pits. I never looked to see if it was there yesterday.

Looks like he only made one lap. He looks good on the bike in this pic though:

I remember when Kiedrowski went offroad and him saying he had no clue just how hard it was until he tried it first hand. Nothing funner than taking a MXer who's never ran woods to a property with 8+ miles of tight trails.

Heath has ran trails lots with Kent Howerton over at Zars.

Heaths bike had mechanical problems so he wasn't able to finish.

I read somewhere they, Summers and BMW, decided the BMW just wasn't ready,
but they had a team in place and wanted to run. Owned by BMW, I thought
they were gonna run the Husky for the first year and debut the Beemer in 09.

Check out local guy Charlie Mullins in 2nd, get 'em Charlie.
