I'm generally a fan of MXA but geez Jody, just because we all didn't start racing in '68 doesn't mean that we as fans aren't entitled to opinions and observations, just like any other freaking sport!! Unlike most sports, at least most moto fans are actual riders and racers. And the real kicker is that I'm sure quite a few peolpe on places like Vital have been racing since the 60s and 70s. No need to be so bitter...

Or jus' sayin'
MXGAY lives in the past enough that we don't need too....

Well, when I read the lead of that article, it just seems to me that every rider on the gate has their own story. I know there is a lot of junk on the web, but there is a lot of credible and relevant information also.

Unless your saying MXA lied about not being at all of them...
We get it your friends with them.
And I agree 100 percent about MXAs shift toward technical and history being a good thing, but as a (non moto) writer and PR person I don't think the tone they often take is the best approach. I'm 39 and it alienates me, if I was 24 or 18 I seriously doubt I would have even continued to read the article.
But hey, maybe you're right, maybe I am just being overly sensitive!
Pit Row
They didn't attend all the races then and don't now yet somehow it's a good thing and they constantly do the same thing they bash others for doing.
I respect the "good ole days" and enjoy reading about the racing back then. But since I was born in 1982, I have a different period in mind when I think of the "golden age" than someone like you... and I hate to break it to you, but that's how it goes from generation to generation. All I'm saying is that you will have diminishing returns if your magazine is written for only those that raced since 1968.
He does make strong points at the beginning of that article. Google and Wikipedia are great, but they aren't a replacement for actual knowledge (although I use google all the time to answer questions, I usually like to find a couple separate sources in the search that back each other up before I go spouting shit off as fact.)
But the one thing i do know.
If you have no clue where ya came from, eventually you will lose your way going forward while makeing old mistakes over and over.
Not all things from the past are bad, or specifically good, just like all "new" things aren't the best and only way either.
I like MXA. The other magazines don't do a thing for me. Different strokes for different folks.
BTW, this article is several years old.
Oh, about sticking up for MXA??? Guess you didn't research your victim too well either...

"Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki probably wouldn't let MXA have any test bikes if they included the 250SX in the shootout. MXA would have to go out and buy their test bikes....again.
It is odd how they continue to test based off of pro racing rules yet they continue to say their opinions will not be swayed. How many pros buy bikes compared to amateurs and vets?"
"just sayin'"
