Sounds like a reason for oil speculators to start making money again.

Speculaters move in and of the market.

Some only show when the money is a sure and easy hedge.

Oil prices are going back down below $100/bbl - apparently the market thinks Iran is bluffing for whatever that's worth.

What was it, mid November when Israel said that any time after Christmas they were looking at taking action against Irans nuclear capabilities?

Who are you laughing at? He said the war started with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, I said no it didn't. The war had been going on very heavily for a while before. Are you so self centered to think that the rest of WWII was merely a sideshow? Is it that tough to understand? And I'm happy to see Racer92 is coming around, the world is a much better place when you open your eyes.

I said Japan started WWII by bombing Pearl Harbor, and for Japan and the US, WWII did start then. Hell, we even declared war on Germany after Pearl Harbor. So my statement stands. For the United States, WWII started after Pearl Harbor.

And one other thing, it was not a WORLD war until the Pacific war started. Up until then it was a european affair.
No, the war came to Africa in june 1940. By this time Australia and New Zealand had entered the war. So it was already a world war by June 1940. Keep in mind the Japanese expansions in Asia since 1933 which were the reason Churchill sent British troops and ships to Singapore. It was already a world war by 1940

The price will shoot up, when the time is right and all of the major players have their ducks in a row, ready to reap the profits.

Exactly. Make no mistake, those guys have a complete plan in place for this stuff to "justify" a huge increase. Same shit as the "hurricane in the Gulf" , "not enough refineries" or any of the other excuses they use to gouge consumers.

WASHINGTON — A senior Iranian official on Tuesday delivered a sharp threat in response to economic sanctions being readied by the United States, saying his country would retaliate against any crackdown by blocking all oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for transporting about one-fifth of the world’s oil supply.

How did that work out for Japan ? Iran won't do any better.

Oil to increase $20-$50 barrel

"...Energy trader Blue Ocean Brokerage said oil prices would likely eventually jump by about $50 if Iran, OPEC's second-biggest crude exporter, tried to close the strait.

"Let's start with an easy $20 spike, then add in a risk premium for insurance costs, delays, costs to push oil through alternative routes and the obvious loss of 3.5 million barrels a day from Iran," energy trader Blue Ocean Brokerage said in a report.

"Crude oil prices have managed to outperform the commodity complex this year, with geopolitical risk premiums and seemingly resurgent U.S. economy offsetting a worsening situation in the eurozone," said analysts at Sucden Financial in London. "With regard to Iranian tensions specifically, an EU foreign ministers' meeting on Jan. 30 to consider further sanctions on the country will likely prove an important focus in early 2012 trade."..."

Japan didn't start WWII by bombing Pearl Harbor... Japan ENTERED WWII by bombing Pearl Harbor. The US was involved in WWII before that by supplying the Allied forces.

WWII was going on before Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

Also, the Pacific portion of World War II started when Japan invaded China in 1937...

Timing is everything. Gas prices always come down around Thanksgiving so everyone has more to spend for the holiday's, The retailers need to show good numbers for wall street. Now all the big hedge fund managers are rounding up every dollar they can, buying up oil futures, and when that's all in place you are going to see $138 dollar a barrel oil again.

Now they are directly threatening our Carrier!

Iran will take action if a U.S. aircraft carrier which left the area because of Iranian naval exercises returns to the Gulf, the state news agency quoted army chief Ataollah Salehi as saying on Tuesday.

"Iran will not repeat its warning ... the enemy's carrier has been moved to the Sea of Oman because of our drill. I recommend and emphasize to the American carrier not to return to the Persian Gulf," Salehi told IRNA.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I advise, recommend and warn them (the Americans) over the return of this carrier to the Persian Gulf because we are not in the habit of warning more than once," the semi-official Fars news agency quoted Salehi as saying.

That shit is funny. Like what would they do about it! LOL Aircraft carriers are always accompanied by a complete host of gunships that would toast anything that came near it. Not to mention the carrier itself most likely is laden with plenty of fighter planes also.

You know what?

Give me -1- Carrier, one non-descript sub and some "assorted" A/F air support and we'll make this an "Excercise" with UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES...

Theme: Pat Travers' "Boom, Boom-out go the Lights!"

Fuck Iran.

That's all we need is another war. Maybe we can get the debt ceiling raised to 30 trillion.

I predict Obama will take another $1 million vacation shortly.

All Israel will have to do is take the muzzle off of the U.S.A. Problem solved.

Qadaffi tried that in the 80s. he sent a couple of fighters towards an American carrier. Sadly for the 2 Lybian pilots the 2 F-14s the Navy scrambled were the 2 most advanced we had at the time, and were flown by 2 "Top-Gun" pilots....The Lybians were incinerated before they knew what was happening.
