The most amazing thing about RC to me, was that when JS came in with a new style and "scrubbing", RC was able to up the pace and adapt to the new scrubbing style of riding. Very few riders would be able to make that transition like he did.

all i know is...me and j.kitsch struggled to get over a double at gatorback back in the 80's on 125's.....ricky did the same double on his 60. It's been awesome to see him turn into an icon. I still think he could be winning races today if he really wanted.

X2!!! Track conditions will never be the same year after year, Tracks will not be the same year after year.. Of course they may only a few sounds off, but we will never know... Just think about the competion.. KDub was there when rc raced now he is only a top 7 guy.. for his age is amazing. He pulled a holeshot and did well for almost half a moto in the outdoors. When rc raced, K dub was younger and faster and RC was pulling away most motos for 40 minutes

This thread is dumb. You can't comparison lap times from previous years. Bikes are different and tracks are not gonna be the same regardless of the layout. Rc was a man on a mission, 04 was his last year on Honda, watch them old races. Then you will agree with Reedy, he was on another planet.

Lap times can't measure what really goes on during racing. RC stands out in my mind by his corner speed that no one was able to match on a MX track. It didn't matter if the turn was rutted, flat, sandy, wet or dry.



He contantly attacked and charged every corner and maintained a speed that even Stewart could not carry



This RC pass was set up by his corner exit speed 100 yards before taking the lead away from Stewart.


RC will always be remembered for his go for broke hard charging, sick whip sky launches but his ability to set up a pass by exiting a corner faster than anyone else is something lap times can't truly document.

Well he took the King of sx down too. Only James and I guess sometimes Reedy could give Rc any trouble indoors. And in a championship race, it was usually rc getting it in the end. RC is the GOAT of MX NOT SX. MC is the GOAT of SX.

You cant be the Greatest of All Time if you dont hold the records in both supercross and motocross. Cant use a blanket statement like that.

And every great falls. Look back through history. So "taking" down the King was bound to happen. But no one has matched or beaten McGraths supercross records. RC included.

RC won 5 SX titles he entered in a ROW over the course of 6 years......even Mcgrath can't say that.

Not that it matters but jeremy as king and rc as goat seems appropriate......it allows jeremy his deserved respect as the best sx'er of all time and by using a separate lofty moniker provides same respect for the record achievements in both sx mx of RC

yes he did at Millville which was a mudder. That changes things a bit. Steel City was a hard packed track where lap times should be closer together.

Look, there is no doubt that RC is the greatest of all time. I also believe he would have won more SX titles if it weren't for injury which would put him right with MC. In 2001 he won 13 SX in a row to close out the season against defending champ MC.

But i also believe RV and RD on their best days could run RC's pace. Where RC was above everyone else is that he never had off days. He was consistantly at his fastest pace.

Putting my two cents in. Thats how I look at it and those are my reasons above.

How many titles in SX did Jeremy win in a row?

Also, how many titles and race wins does Jeremy have in SX? And how many does RC have in SX.

Greatest of all time means NO ONE is better at what you do. But that isnt the case. Jeremy was better in supercross.

My feelings on that topic. Dont like it thats cool. But until MCs records are broken I wont change my stance on it.

All the RC nut huggers probably will find some way to discredit my arguement though.

King MC says RC is the Goat and he even learned a lot from RC in SX as did RC from him ofcoarse. RC writes the definition of dirtbike racing. Hannah says so, Decoster says so, MC says so, Everts says so, Reed says so, KW says so, Stewart says so, all on air many times each and they are all out of this world too but hands down Ricky trained harder and wanted it more than anyone so far and he did what it took to domonate from beginning to end in this hardcore sport. I guess you could argue that but most or maybe all of the guys that race at the top agree. With that being said the last few years have been awesome racing and 2012 is going to be another epic battle to look forward to.

If RC hadnt retired how many more supercross titles would he have won? He retired at his PEAK and pushed MC out. Nobody pushed out the GOAT. He would prob have over 20 titles if he was still going. I will say this last season in outdoors, to my eyes it seemed like RV/RD were going as fast as anyone I have ever seen. To my eyes, doesnt mean anything jus saying that what it seemed
