The foot that David Bailey had in it is no more. I can't really comment beyond that, other than to say that he has one of the greatest minds for designing gear and the refinement of the subtle nuances that make pants, gloves, boots, goggles, helmets, etc. work incredibly well, while at the same time looking awesome.
However, if no one listens to you...
DB would have brought a lot to that brand, and certainly brings it a lot of credence,

I know some of you are going to tell me that I am wrong, and that's ok. But the truth is, there's not enough of you old guy's to pay the bills for JT to market to the masses.
You don't have to like what everyone is selliing, but it doesn't change the fact that it's the stuff that everyone is buying.
Current JT stuff, and I own and use it myself, needs to be of better basic design. Construction is ok, gloves too thin, jerseys not fitted well and that funky short zipper on the pants has gotta go.
Pit Row
I did work with Haro on a design project in the 90's (and he's a great designer), but I think Motodude is mis-informed.
A guy named Chris was head designer responsible for the V2000, mouth trap etc.
Bailey ran a custom graphics service for the ALS helmets along with being involved in the development of it. To say David was a big wheel behind JT design is incorrect.
In the old days, DB and some very well known guys in the industry spent time as designers at JT (Marc Blanchard ring a bell?). Their designs (including DB ) went well beyond the ALS helmets. I know this because I spent a few days there watching them work, and listening to JMB talk about what he's like to see in the product. You must be speaking of David's years after JT when he did some custom helmet painting for some of the guys. Nobody said David was a big wheel at JT back then. Go back and read the posts.
Now let's talk about today. JT designs and launches its brand. The designs aren't up to par, and everyone knows it. DB is brought in with some very specific ideas on how to right the ship, and in spite of being told that he has the power to make it right, he is thwarted at every turn as he brings creative input that would bring the brand into the sweet spot that a company with a history like JT would need to find to be successful and relevant.
I have nothing against the guys at JT now. Don't know them. I was really excited that they were coming back, and I was really excited when I heard what DB was pitching on the product development side. Now, not so much.
Just know that we read this and take in all the suggestions both positive and negative and will be sure to consider them in future product development.
As for riders! SIt tight! We are announcing soon!!!!!
