You can bet if that 250 is sold it's solely because of the AMA Amateur rule change in the lites class.

As of right know it looks like they cut the RM line even more this year. They did send out a nice little booklet showing the full line, RM85, RM85L, RM125, RM250, RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 that I am sure is available for other markets. On our order sheets the only bikes that we are ordering right now is the RM85, RM-Z250 and RM-Z450. Looks like the 85L is even gone for next year.

I thought this post was going to be about how they returned the moto world to conventional forks!

Not sure where you are getting that info from. You are the only one who seems to know this. Can you share?

I am holding a 2009 RM-Z/RM brochure part #99999-a2208-191 May 2008. It has all models listed RMZ450 RMZ250 RM250 RM125 RM85L RM85. If I had a scanner I would make a copy for you. That all the info I have.I was handed this by our sales manager. If its a fluke, It came from SUZUKI!

Lack of sales will drive that nail in the coffin. Be hard pressed to find a two stroke even in the KTM dealer on the west coast. I love my 4stroke but for reasons its a lot smoother then a 500 two stroke.

No one wants to buy a 250 when a 450 is legal. Everyone is in "Championship Mode" Mom and Dad want to raise the next James/Ricky/Ryan insert next big money maker here.

1. That is not a U.S. part number

2. Japan puts out a global brochure for those models despite there availability in each country.

3. If you can find a 2009 RM250 in the U.S. You must have good contacts in Japan.

Good luck on your search.

We have sold around 12 since the rule change. Sold 2 this week to guys racing lites classes. Have 3 three racers at MN right now with RM's. I bet this year LL will have a ton off 2 strokes this year.

Well if anything, I better not be gettin all hyped up if all theyre gonna do to it is new graphics and a few minor tweaks. I wanna see a new chassis on that thing maybe even a few new engine mods...Smile

There are a couple of pretty fast guys in my area that are actually going to 2-strokes. One of them has 2 broken 250Fs in his garage and is borrowing a friend's KX250. He rides hard 4 days a week and just can't keep up with the maintenance and bills anymore.

Oh well, people voted with their $ years ago and said "I'm willing to buy this garbage, even at higher cost!"

That would be the one place those bikes will never turn up. People don't go to Loretta's to loose. Common conspiracy would be two strokes are not competitive any longer. I don't agree with it. Mom and Dad sure do.

All that work to get to the line and you are going to line up with a disadvantage? This pundit thinks no.

Tiki have you been to any qualifiers this year?

Whatchu smokin' Willis? Why make major mods on the bike if what they have already is working great.

LOTS of 250 2S on the track today at Muddy Creek. In the Pro Sport "lites" class, 9 of the first 12 were 250 2S. 3 or 4 were in the top in the B class.

Tiki,

Are you aware that the 250 2 stroke is legal in the 250F class and does not have to race against 450s any longer?

250 2's are still the best tool for woods/off-road. Just look at the top "non-factory" riders....I bet you 450 guys love being passes on a "disadvantaged" bike on your "sick" 450's LOL! I've heard enough excuses to know for a fact that it's the rider, not the bike....nuff'said

Are they just no longer for sale in the USA? Or are they canning them all together. I figures with the FIM pushing for a 125 class in Europe in the future that most would still be making them. Also, the 2-strokes are still selling well in several EU countries.
