Yep he stole my number too!! I got a call from registration saying I can't run 33 cause grant is.
Sooo pumped for this event, racing pro/am gp and vet gp sat and team Moto Sunday. Only bummer thing is the price, cost 300 for three classes, practice and camping. Not including gate fees, ouch!!

I'm in, just for fun. Racing (okay, riding) one class each day, and shooting the rest of the weekend. Smile

My boy is racing in the 50's... I'll be the guy running behind him flailing my wrist and yelling "GO GO GO FUU((KKK", you may hear my screaming at him in the pits.... something like "what the fu(k were you doing out there?? You HAVE to WIN STUPID!". He's got a good chin though... I'll punch his ass right in the chin and the kid (tough as nails) just shrugs it off... FU(K yeah, that's my boy!

What a stupid post.

if it costs too much, don't go-it's not mandatory. They have a ton of people there, as many as they probably care to handle. Are you saying they could charge less and make the same money for more work?

Since they have a ton of people there then charge more right ? Talk about STUPID. I'm not going, and never said it was mandatory, There are events run all over the map where the pre entry fee is 25-35 bucks not 60-75. It's a 500 dollar weekend to race a beat down hammered track. You should go, and put more money in Alexander's wallet. I'll be at cal city mx payin 20 bucks ! Been there done that, It's called learning a lesson, and passing it on to others.

I agree with HallZilla, paying $300 to race one weekend would put most guys who race every weekend in the poor house.

Short term, its great for the promoter but long term stuff like this makes me wonder about the future of amateur racing. What would happen if suddenly every promoter thought it was a good idea to charge this much?

I think some of the races need to be longer. Didn't "Grand Prixs" used to be longer than a moto at some of the weekly races at Saddleback? Corona GP used to be 50-60 minutes. Viewfinders GP @ Riverside 3 hours for the winner 3.25 or so for the last on the lead lap. There was a bit of pavement involved and luckily the "waterhole" was a concrete pad.

Ask the people at Mini O's in Florida how much this week is costing them. Most of them spent more in fuel one way-forget about the 10 days off work and everything else.

Day in the Dirt is a once a year deal, and if I couldn't afford to ride then I would probably just bring my son and a couple of his friends (15 years ago)and enjoy a day around a cool event in the industry in a relaxed atmosphere.
