I have used all their gear except the helmet. The boots are great. They break in very fast but I will warn you, you will lose the straps. We have to put gorilla tape over the bottom of the boot to keep them from being unbuckled and losing the strap. We even tried using screws to keep in the strap and still no luck. However; the feel of the boot is nice and they look good. Never had top of the line Alpinestars, Gaernes, or Sidis so I can't compare to them. Their gear is top notch. Great roomy material and probably the best I have ever had. Chest protector is also great. Yet to try the helmet before.

its shitty, they even have some plastic on the elbow on their top of the line jersey. Their boots are Answer/MSR quality, just another made in china brand, with products produced in the same factory as others. Their boots don't come close to the Alpinestars/Gaerne/Fox standard and their helmet are mediocre at the best. Buy a KBC or an HJC you would have the same quality, if not better and will save money.

They made an error coming into gear, they were not ready for that. I don't think they are going to do good in moto, but they have a great mountain bike line and are doing very well in that market. Should have stayed with goggles.

Im considering getting different gear, iv ran Scott for one race and the jersey completely ripped down the side, stupid small crash that personally i dont think warrented the jersey basically ripping in half.

I have alway wore Tech 10s and all thor gear but Got an offer from them and was thinking of getting all scott stuff but have now changed my mind thanks guys

That's too bad, I was hoping they would do well as their gear is fairly decent looking.

Pretty sure Scott has been producing riding gear for quite a few years now, from at least 2007 probably longer (I remember seeing their gold and black gear back in 07 and wanting it), have never tried it myself but some of the designs along the way have been clean and pretty sweet looking.

Scott's snowmobile gear is top notch stuff. Suprising that their moto stuff isn't at least as good. I did try on one of their helmets once, wasn't really impressed, but then again my current lids, both street and dirt, are Arais.

I don't think you should base your opinion based on 3 biased opinions from amateur riders on a forum. If they made you a sponsorship "offer" get in contact with the person in charge of sponsorship relations at Scott and express your concerns to them. Politely ask if they would be willing to send you one set of gear at a discounted rate for your inspection before you commit to them and buy X amount of gear sets.

Don't be lazy, try it! You will be surprised at how helpful most are in the industry if you express some legitimate concerns and follow through. Don't come off bashing their products, but explain you're wanting to give them a try but you have some concerns with durability. If they believe in their product and believe in customer/rider support, they should have no problem helping you out. If they don't want to work with you, it's probably not a company you want to build a relationship with regardless of their product.

This. And, be loyal to your sponsors, fer christsakes. TLD sent a box of t-shirts, etc. to my son AFTER an injury took him out of the sport---with a note to stay in touch. He still sports a TLD sticker on his truck and considers himself family.

The people at Scott USA are some of the best you will ever deal with. If their stuff tears up due to quality control or workmanship, they fix it. They backed us for years, even during the worst injury times, until it just didn't make sense for us to take up any of their sponsorship budget. Even though we don't get that kind of support from them now, we still will only wear Scott Goggles and Boots and the Scott USA logos are prominently represented of our bikes. Their gear stuff looks awesome....their product manager does an outstanding job and worries about the little details.

Mxtech is right, give their stuff a try. I, for one, would rank their products up there with any of the "leading brand" names. We are saving pennies now for the new gear.

I have been racing in their gear for the past 2 seasons head to toe, and i dont have a single complaint about the gear. the boots dont come with a bootie, but i personaly dont like the heavy feeling of the tech 8 and 10s, their helmets are very light and super comfy, the new 350 helemt is also comfy, as far as crashing and gear ripping...all gear rips at certain times

how are the boots ankle protection? I broke both of my ankles so I'm kind of leary about getting them.

If you need really solid ankle protection I would go top of the line A stars, sidis, Gaerne's, etc..

As far as people bashing the gear (jerseys and pants). You high? I ride off road in the southeast.. ie trees, branches, briars, vines and this stuff holds up extremely well. It is TOP OF THE LINE gear.
