Designed by a dude in Melbourne. Its being unveiled at the Sydney Motorcycle Show at the end of the month.

Claims 3 hours riding at 60 km/h. Thats pretty good. I wonder how much power it produces though... Can't expect it to be much. But man, it would have to be a blast to ride on. Seems like there would be less hassle than the current electric bikes.

That's very cool! I didn't know about this.
It sure has stout brakes and forks.

I wonder if it would be legal in the states with that high pressure cylinder? What psi (kPa) is in the tank?

Is it just compressed air powering it forward or a motor that somehow 'burns' the oxygen?

I'm pretty sure the compressed air powers it forward. That's how most compressed air car engines work. Although several of them do have a 'burn' effect where they will use fuel (gas, diesel, etc) to heat the compressed air, causing it to further expand once it's released into the cylinder, getting greater power from the available air as well as using less air per stroke, effectively extending the range (albeit using fuel to do so)

One night on PBS I saw some engineers working on vehicles with this concept, except these vehicles recaptured the air in another tank after it had gone through it's "powerplant", from one tank to the other back and forth, giving virtually unlimited range.

That should leave the oil companies (and electric) quaking in their boots. No wonder we haven't seen more of it...

Just to be clear- there would have to be another fuel. Oxygen doesn't burn, (oxidize), it merely makes the combustion process possible, and when provided in copious amounts, enhances the process.

That would cut the range in half, as soon as the tanks pressures equalized, no more go.

Was there a lot of hand waving?

LOL wut.

Firstly, its air. Why would it need to be recaptured?

Secondly, an expanding gas releases energy. Conversely, you need to put energy in to compress the air. So without some other power source, that would be impossible

Also, unless this is compressed with solar power or similar, you would need to use coal-fired power from the grid to compress it, not making it CO2 neutral
