he signed with italian team gariboldi, that ran kullas and charlier on monster yamahas in mx2, has changed brand for 2012....
they will be running hondas, with close help from works team honda martin, and should keep monster as major sponsor....
the program for max is just like roczen did this year....lites west in usa them mx2....
don't now what backup or even what bikes will he have in usa, but he has good speed in sx, should be another player for the west serie........

2013 could be the year for max to shine since he will not have daddy bugging his head around at the races.......
I can see him doing well on Hondas

Shame his dad keeps disturbing his career ,if what I've been reading is true...
That said he is really good at Supercross, I just wonder if he can stay injury free by the time the GPs come around lol
With a years experiance in GPs he should be good in 2012.
Are you for real sometimes man!! You are the biggest shit talker I've ever read on here!
Anyway, best of luck to Max! Seems he has lost the biggest monkey off his back and now can show everyone what he's had all along
SH
Shaun do you think your speed improved doing gp's or do you think you lost the intensity that you need in the AMA
You need to post more often Hammy!
I love it!
this his the 1º video of him in a honda, and it looks to be at the ranch in california....so he is already putting in the laps gatting set for the west cost.....wonder in what honda team will he be pitting out of ??

The facts are he went to the US at 13/14 to become a better rider and get a head start on those guys - turns out they are the ones ahead of him in career development, and at a younger age, especially in motocross. Which indicates to me that they made the right choice. Searle has also had more success in his career by going the same route. I think that is a pretty fair observation to make based on what's happened...not sure why that annoys you tbh.
Anstie is a great rider though, with very good technique and brings a lot of colour to the paddock. I just hope he stays injury free this year in Supercross and show what he can do, then race the GPs healthy and finally start to get some wins. It will be interesting to see if he can beat Roczen in supercross. He has the talent to be at the front but it just hasn't came together for him so far. I expect him to be a factor in both series this season, he has all the experience he needs now in every series.. it is all up to him.
And, not to stray too far into reality, but generally for most riders the intensity of SX has improved their speed in all disciplines.
And, while I know this is foreign for you Mccread, to go a little further into the land of fact, SX isn't the only discipline where riders get hurt. Probably as many racing and training outdoors as SX.
Pit Row
I almost wonder if he has a progressive sort of disease that causes delusions of increasing intensity as time goes on...
more foreign riders legitimize our sport here in the USA imo
People don't talk about this much any more because it goes without saying. The biggest reason American's are faster is because of Supercross. It hones all the skills and makes for a better all around racer. I think if Anstie had stuck around longer he might have had better results, but history shows that most Euro's that come to America get injured in supercross because it is not a focus for the FIM. This inexperience at supercross hurts the young Euro's when they first come over.
XOXOX FTE.
Yes I know that, but supercross is very risky, one mistake can have huge consequences.
And being good at supercross doesn't automatically mean you are going to be the best outdoor rider either especially in the World Championship or Britiosh Championship because it is so different ( as Steven Clarke found out this year), there are lots of examples of guys good at supercross intensity and technique but struggle with the challenges in outdoor racing. Of course the opposite is true as well.
That intensity is good for US racing because you need it for there, and in some cases for GP racing but it wasn't the intensity he was lacking.. it was speed and versatility on a variety of tracks that he didn't have compared to the top three.... and that's my point. Racing in the US Amateur series instead of GPs and then US outdoor tracks and practicing supercross, which he has done is totally different to racing the World Championship or British Championship motocross which Roczen/Searle/Herlings etc have done with a lot of success.
Yet again you are viewing this as anti american or something which it isn't or GP v AMA ... which it isn't, stop being so defensive and patriotic.
It's just an observation, based on other guys taking the GP route first, I think going to America at such a young age did not help Max progession as much as he thought it would, and he maybe would have benifitted from racing GPs/British championship from he was fifteen like the other guys.
Max had plenty of time and is talented enough to have went to the US at 17-19 and still pick up supercross and do well there imo, he didn't need to rush it.
From getting into a fight with jason Anderson's dad and KTM when he was in the amateurs, then having problems with Kawi and supposedly copping things from them. Max's dad is like a black hole. He is just a different form of TA.
Post a reply to: max anstie in for lites west...
