Oh who cares, so what if he wagged his finger???? The dude is up front fighting and people don't need to over analyze every little thing.

I mean what if he did flip him off, who really cares......This is dirt bike racing not ballroom dancing.

KW gave Friese the finger without even lifting his hands off the bars and everyone thinks that's great.

Get some perspective people.

I've been trying to tell that to these guys that are hating, but they can't seem to listen over their indignation.

Kinda wondering now if they don't realize how dumb they sound, or they just don't care if they show it or not....

It was stupid of him to do. Especially when he's there to try to impress potential teams to be on next year. The fact that you created a profile on vital to come and defend him is funny in my opinion.

Side note: I think it's hilarious that nowadays whenever there's a controversy, people just add "gate" to the end of whatever the controversy is.

Ever remember..."Seat Bounce Gate" or my favorite..."Strobe Gate" (or lol bic lighter)?
Don't forget RC's Fuelgate.

This is just to much to read without responding , even if he did give someone the finger who cares ! It doesnt matter if he is a pro mx guy or a pro basket weaver ! He is a grown man and can express himself however he wants , its great to live in the USA ,maybe some people should stop pretending to be high and mighty and realize that nobody cares if you agree or disagree with something you witnessed and your take on it .

Something more creative needs to be used. Adding "gate" to the end of everything is a bit lame. Same with nick names nowadays. Everyone's nick name is their initials. Pretty lame if you ask me.

Three things.......

1st......that picture doesn't show anything really. It shows him about to put his hands back on the bars or getting ready to take it off.....it really doesn't prove or disprove anything.

2nd.......Where is the second pic? From the second time he did it? There were two separate times Alessi looked back and did some kind of a hand gesture.

3rd......I don't care what he did to be honest. Weather he flipped him off or just wiggled his finger.....both are kind of friggin' stupid.

I can understand how a rider can get frustrated. Mike is capable of being a top 5 finisher out doors if he has his head screwed on right that day. Indoors , he is not a threat , and never will be.....I'm sorry if that sounds harsh , but it's a fact. I DIG Mike....even after what happened this past weekend. I dig him for his love of the sport and his pure DRIVE to succeed in it!

My reply isn't to complain , slander or make Mike look bad in any way. Cameras do that , by filming ones actions on the track. With that being said , I wish Mike a great 2012 season , indoors and out doors!

I deleted the picture where it was Mike completely turned around with his arm directly behind him pointing at Dungey, but it was blurry. Want me to pull it up??

not a big deal, unless Alessi is using it for publicity ....

just a thought though, the race is in front of you, focus there.

Mike Alessi hasn't ran that pace in supercross in a long time (maybe ever), at least Dungey's pace (RV was gone). I think he did good, at times he did hold up RD and let Villopoto slip away, but rubbing is racing. If something would've happened to RV then Mike would have been battling for a win. No harm there, Mike battled hard and the crowd loved it. Either way, IMO Dungey had no chance in catching Villopoto either. Villopoto was on another level than Dungey. (that night*)
Track was far from a proper Supercross track, and there was only 1 main line to use which made it easier to stay ahead and block people. The jump sections on this track were some of the worst I've seen, the riders had no options at all apart from running it in hard in the turns.

I don't really care if he flipped him off or gave him the finger. Most of us have done something similar during a race. It happens every once in a while and comes with the territory.

What really gets me on this is Ricky blowing it up on live TV. Heck I have seen Ricky do worse than that. (MXdN at Budds Creek he deliberately block passed him, checked up, and then pointed and shook his finger in Caroli's face over one of the tabletops. Yet no one made mention to it.)

Some people think Mike should have let Dungey by or something. Was the finger pointing necessary? Probably NOT, but I like Alessi's attitude in this thing. People say James gets treated different, IMO Dungey and everyone else does too. It's time someone like Alessi makes waves or dies trying. More the latter than the former, but I commend him for that at least.

It seems that many people may have jumped the Gun in regards to the Alessi Fingegate issue. As the picture below depicts Alessi did not give Dungey the Finger. It makes you wonder how many false rumors, negative perceptions and just overall bad attitudes towards people like Alessi/Stewart are just flat wrong and lies.

Why anyone could be mad at a professional who has dedicated his entire life to anything, only to get to the top of his field and have to pay his own way is beyond me. It seems you should be more angry at the sport when a guy like Nick Wey also pays his on way, Davi Milsaps might be in the same boat. This weekend was really more of a highlight on where the sport is at . The MEC highlighted two legitimate atheletes on national TV that are paying there way. Those two being Wey and Alessi. This is not enticing for anyone outside of the sport. Why take life and death risk to only lose money every weekend. Wake up people your mad at the wrong people. No one athlete can carry a sport. Ryan Villipoto as great as he is cannot carry the sport of motocross all by himself...Much like Lebron James or Tom Brady cannot carry there respective sports.

Do you think Alessi could be just a little frustrated at this point.

The Point is: Maybe Alessi deserves Apology...at the very least he needs to be cut some slack

Maybe he was saying Shhhhhhhh!!! With his finger to his lips ........wtf ever the kid is a head case for one reason or another....racing is racing but he was trying to block and or take people out so badly that he ran off the track!!! And that was in front of metty!! I started to wonder if he was trying to take out everyone he felt had taken his rides in the past!! I was honestly wanting to see him do well. Seems like he has become more humble and then he rides like an ass..... If he had taken a rider out when he cut over on them over a double would he have apologized??? Sport is too dangerous to ride like that.... Just My .02

This weekend was really more of a highlight on where the sport is at

This weekend was really a highlight of how savvy Monsters marketing department is.

Why take life and death risk to only lose money every weekend. Wake up people your mad at the wrong people.

Why indeed ??? I'm pretty sure every rider knew MX was a badly paying , dangerous game before they decided to make a career of it, if the risk / reward ratio isn't to their liking they can always search under "Jobs" on Craigslist there's always plenty listed.
He's acting like it's their god given right to race MX for an eternity.

DD photo.
This.

I don't know why so many people thought he was flicking him off. It was pretty clear when I was watching it. Either way, it was a cocky move as if he had a reason to be mad at Dungey. He didn't, and it made him look pretty stupid. I don't know what he was trying to prove with that pass back on Dungey. He was not even close to his pace so I don't know what the point of trying to dick around with him was.

I was hoping that RD5 was going to put Alessi about 15 rows up in the stands...
