No matter how fast you are you can't win if you can't keep it on 2 wheels. Legacy? 3rd on the all time wins list, 2nd in the all-time SX wins list, 6 Championships and a perfect season to boot. Revolutionizing current racing in the process. Legacy was cemented a long time ago. Catch up.

You're just a hater, so I can't fault you for doing your job. No worries.
The stats about Stewart are true. Unfortunately for him, a legacy is about what you leave behind and what people remember. Stewart has been busy destroying his legacy since 2008. His supercross only-"it's for the fans"-crash his brains out-twitter-"reality" show-who the hell is running things-get arrested routine has alienated even many of his former hardcore fans like P and others.

I was once a big Stewart fan, but not since his common sense and realization of what made him great left the building. He is ego run amok. Seems a whole lot of people feel the same way. I hope he can regain his sense, but is isn't looking good.

And at the end of the day, this thread is about how Ryan Villopoto has taken it to the next level, as was obvious to all who watched last night.

I love the reaches made by James' fans. 6 titles? (I assume we're including World SX in a year when the AMA SX wasn't won?) Revolutionizing current racing. I never heard anyone talk about how any previous rider "revolutionized" the sport as part of their resume, because the resume is somewhat lacking. Usually we stick to wins and titles. I don't remember any all-time stats based on a guy with a radar gun looking for raw speed through the whoops or for half a lap. I don't see any all-time stats based on lap times for a few laps. I see stats for wins and titles. Pretty much like in any sport.....RESULTS. In baseball, a pitcher that can throw the ball 100mph and also can break off a ridiculous curve is nothing if he can't find the plate and hits every other batter. He is known to SUCK regardless of how talented he is or how fast his pitches are, the results are what matter. Similarly, guys that throw 83 mph can be way better based on results. I'm not saying James sucks, he has ridiculous talent and insane speed. But fans like you who proclaim he is better than the guys beating him do him absolutely zero favors. Crashing is part of the game. Hey, James just might hold the record for the most amount of titles pissed away due to crashing or injury! There's something.

it wouldnt surprise me if RV does another 2 years and retires

i remember at a young age he said he wanted to retire by the time he was 25 or 26 or so...

with todays "factory" wages becoming non-existant..it looks like this may be a reality

His all-time stat for now is third best rider ever. RV is a guy who could pass that stat.

3rd best based on wins.....in SX.

If you go by titles? He is tied for 5th ever.......in SX. MC(8), RC(5), Stanton(3), Hannah(3) all have more and James, Reed, RJ, and Ward all have 2 each.

When we factor in MX it becomes an even cloudier issue about ranking the best riders of all time when combining SX and MX. I do not currently have Stewart as 3rd best on any all-time list.

Pretty impressive considering he spent a lot of his career racing against the Goat, sat out at least 4 seasons and hasn't retired yet.

But this thread is about how amazing RV is and deservedly so.

With the continuity and his current form, his program for next year sure looks to be way ahead of everyone else's for next year for sure. That's a big head start. The four guys (RV, Reed, Stew, Canard) are hard workers, and I guess we'll see how well supported with Reed and Stew as their programs unfold. RV must feel like a million bucks at the moment, though.

Watching RV last night reminded me of 2007 MXDN...It was probably good for RD to get his ass kicked because him and roger know where they stand and will get to work. It was also probably good that Stewart wasn't there because he woulda got waaaaxed and we all hate watching him pull off frustrated-either way prolly didnt help negotiations.

If RV keeps that edge look out-

RV had a yr to remember but he had a lot of help from Dungey's bad luck.

People need to remember that A popped chain and a gas tank that ran dry is why he has a couple #1 plates.
hey moron, dungey's chain derailed because he made contact with anotyjher rider while riding mid pack. stop watching the races with a blindfold on

Being the fastest on the track and then wrecking your brains out while trying to accomplish it..........where does that get you?

4th place in points.........because the guy who "was" in forth broke his leg.

Don't forget........James raced every single round last year , and had a chance at winning as much as anyone else in 17 rounds. He got 4th overall.

Being the fastest , sometimes doesn't equal to shit if you can't finish week in and week out.

and this gift title shit is getting old. dungey derailed his own chain mid pack while slam baging his way through... villopoto didnt ask for a guy in front of him to accidentally bump his kill switch in mid air.... and dungey coulda backed off a bit with the lead he had at freestone and he may have finished it..

think about yourself...how often do you crash when your riding in your comfort level? It happens I am sure but think about the bad get offs..those are usually from pushing it too hard or fatigue or a combination of both. So if some other guy consistently goes out and gets close to the same times but keeps it on 2 wheels more often..logic tells me he's the faster one because of where his comfort level is. That is what championships reflect for the most part- my 2 cents

PS staying true to this thread RV's comfort level looks pretty uncomfortable for a lot of guys
