Well if you remember the Reed/Larry brooks incident it was for what your asking right now they are contractually obligated to not ride any other brand bike untill that contract expires if they are caught riding a different bike the sponsor has the right to not pay them the remainder of what is owed to them...

I wonder if anyone protested RV's bike he seemed to have power that no-one else had...at least from where i sat watching
