I'm gonna be like....yo James I buy a lot of Red Bull and I have worn Answer gear for many years.
I also have owned tons of Yamaha products.I have bought many Bell helmets.
I own many pairs of Oakleys and also Nikes.
With that said and all taken into consideration....I'm entitled to ask for what I want to see!
I want to watch you rastle one of them Alligators over there in the pond!
My allegiances go elsewhere if you do not comply.
How do you think that will go over?
If you are wondering what my point is....
My point is...if he doesn't think something is not a good idea,he isn't gonna do it,regardless of what his fans want and think are good ideas.
I'd guess James is doing all right on the sponsor front. Fans come and go. Win some races, and people forget pretty fast.
What cracks me up is when fans act like they're paying him or his bills.
I assume a big part of the reason why his 10million in endorsements are there is because of what he has already achieved & accomplished in this sport (it's a big part of what makes him marketed-able). Not because once Red Bull had signed him, every James Stewart fan started drinking Red Bull and their sales through the roof.I highly doubt their sales changed that much at all.
Same could be said with Yamaha,Answer,Bell,Nike,Oakley etc..
The question about where Yamaha was has been answered in interviews also, everyone says they have plenty of resources available to the teams. My feeling is, this is what happens when you don't have a factory team. IMO a factory team provides basically a baseline of knowledge. Not having their own data to fall back on & relying on 4 teams, that are all going in 4 different directions, stifles development. It's my opinion, watching what happens with Suzuki in the next couple years will either support it or prove it wrong.

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
He's helping out companies one crash at a time.
I say good for him, when you get to be the rider with the third most wins out of any rider ever in the history of the sport I would say he has earned it.
It cracks me up when people say if a rider does not do what I want them to do I'm not going to like them anymore. I think the top riders know that while they are one of the best there is always going to be people that don't like them.
Why did Big James go to Mike and convince him LB was the problem with the bike all along,if it was Serg's fault and he was blaming himself? Makes no sense to me...
I have heard that from a couple people that were close to the situation, that Big James was mostly the one who convinced Mike.
"The question about where Yamaha was has been answered in interviews also"
In what interview?
Would love to read it....
So where were they then as far development?
Did they say, yeah go head take our bike #1 bike in SX that is in the public eye week in & week out and do what you want with engineering and if you make us look bad,we dont care...? Because that is what happened. That is not how those companies usually work... unless Yamaha is going down hill big time.
In fact ,normally Yamaha doesn't play around when it comes to their products, especially stuff that is in the public eye.
Would love to see this interview you speak of.
Shoot,in their marine division they have a strangle hold all the way to the techs at service centers, at least they used to.
People used to get fired when shit goes wrong with stuff that is in the public's eye..demo boats etc..
What was their take on Brooks leaving...I know they were close with him?
Would love to read that interview also...
What was their take on what the REAL problem with the bike was?
Or did they just blow it off and not care?
I read this board every day & also RacerX & TWMX ...I never seen 1 thing posted as to what Yamaha's take was on all this.
Even Matthes a couple weeks back was asking about Yamaha and where were they in all this...
And yes Yamaha Techs are at the races & practice tracks etc...and even out at James personal track.
But that doesn't give me their take on all this...
As for Big James...
This was the first email I got regarding it, from someone in the know...
Who I will leave anonymous...
"Long story and it would take too long to type.
If you want to call me i'd tell ya more. (Number removed)
JBS (mostly big james) threw LB out and convinced Kranyak that the prob with bikes was LB. Tried PC, FC, Showa, and bike didnt respond. lots more but like I said to much to type."
I also got pretty much the same story from a couple more people that were even closer to the situation.
Pit Row
It is unlike them to turn a blind eye to someone bringing in an outside guy for development purposes....you would think.
Then the firing of a Team manager who they have had a VERY close relationship with in the past and not having any say in it.Especially when it is their #1/top bike in this sport...
James was under personal contract with them,he was their NUMBER 1 guy,he wasn't just a support guy. JGR,MC & Valli are just support teams, their riders are not personally contracted with Yamaha, like James was.James was their Factory guy contracted by them riding under the L&M tent.
Mike never mentioned one word about them regarding this matter, neither did Serg in their interviews.
LB has never mentioned where they were either, nor has James or anyone for that matter.
Seems they would be in the know.....aye? One reason why I said Sergs interview seemed pretty sugar coated.
Like I said before, no one has answered the questions...
:-)
True story...
Either way, if he didn't like Larry Brooks he was probably happy that he was gone, title or no title. At this point I don't think it's about titles for James. I hate to say that, but that is the way that it seems at this point.
P
I did hear he got in a little trouble trying to show a car load of cops how to do their job.
Since he got his own tv show Bubba has been a little confused.
He thinks he is the Mike Roe of Moto.
WIth all his free time he has to find something to do.
Funny how Reedy also had a problem with another team manager (Fisher) during a year where he was collecting big bucks and under-performing (how does a neck injury become Epstein Barr anyway?). I don't like Brooks but don't see that he was the one in the wrong there. In the end they settled, and that's pretty much how our F'd up system works. I find it sickening that no one has enough honor to live by their commitments and need contracts to force them to abide by them to begin with, but then to go out and knowingly break it and ride something else? They all do it though. As if Dungey never rode a KTM until Ocober 1, 2011.
L&M is still an entity (without Larry) yet it disappeared from James' semi, but the San Manuel logos remained, but now L&M is still a team but with no James and he is somehow out of his Yamaha contract? Doesn't add up.
Post a reply to: bet james is wondering wtfwit when he told lb to get lost
