I've got a few hours to spare on Friday before heading down to the track. What should I (or anyone else in the area for the race) hit in Dallas?

Strip bars and barbecue ribs. They have the best and worst of both in that city.

Wow, that sounds like some land mines to step on, and some to avoid. Wink

So does that mean there are no gentleman's BBQ places? You just get one or the other?

If you like music, this place is pretty cool. Thier site hasn't been updated for June, but they might by Friday.

It's got a "Water Garden" with fountains, outdoor areas, I've never eaten there, but they do serve food. Live music every Friday & Saturday.

I love that when I read the thread topic, the first thing I though of was barbecue, and apparently so did everyone else...

Angelo's in Ft. Worth is the best barbecue around. Period. It is out of your way, but highly recommended. It will make Rudy's taste like crap.

No doubt, Angelo's kicks ass, but depending on where he's staying could be quite a haul.

Go to speed zone and race on 3 differnet kart tracks and a dragstrip and then right across the interstate on composite drive is The Caberet Royal/The fair. It is literally a block. It is two strip clubs right next two each other one serves alcohol the other is BYOB and is all nude. I suggest the VIP room. You can have a good time in their for a C-note.

That's true. Just on the west side of Ft. Worth (I think?) so it would be a good trip.

That's a bad combination! Just cook them long enough so you don't catch anything!

Go to the Ft Worth stockyards. Sit in a restraunt and have a drink and bite to eat as the parade the Longhorns down the street.

For TexMex, Joe T Garcia's in Fort Worth, near the stockyards. Sit on the patio, order a family dinner, have a margarita and people watch.

He's friends with Mike Hance if that tells you anything. Never a dull moment with that fella.
