RV has a long ways before 150 wins, RC's titles, (3) 12-0 National wins in series, and (2) 24-0 Moto wins in a season.

Karnivool when are you going to give up on putting down RD? If you want to hand out easy wins then you better give two to RV this year also because of DNF's from Dungey, even RV admitted just last week that he would not have won if RD had not had those break downs! You could even say the RD's comp was tougher in his championship year with Grant, Townley, Reed, Metcaf and Shorty (who were actually fast that year) and all the other players that were here this year. Even before some of those riders went out RD was dominating them but for a few motos..

Give it up, they both are damn good and damn even in results. One looks like he's crazed and the other looks like he's out for a trail ride but the end result is they have both won several championships..

I wasn't trying to put RD down, I was stating what the message boards were talking about(admittedly myself at one point not too long ago)...

couple things:

RD had a great year, but bench racers will always question the * principle...(which is BS i know)
RV has an incredible as he took down Js7, cr22, TC41, and RD5...simply amazing and he did it with clutch rides at the ight moment...

never did i compare js7's career to Rc4's as someone above seemed to think

and I had my years wrong...js7 was money in sx in 2007(13 wins), then went 24-0 in 2008 outdoors...my premature brain thought that happened in the same year...(my original post was crap)

again i say, i wasn't putting him down (though i have in the past), i was simply stating the argument...i only wish I could ride like any of the guys on the line...

one thing raddad that you failed to mention was that RV didn't make a main event...losing 25 pts...

levels the DNF in sx that dungey suffered, only RD wasn't at fault in his DNF...

Well said, i suppose if you were to ever compare a rider to the Goat, it would be RV, two very similar guys in my opinion. RC came out and dominated outdoors in his careers on 125s, RV did the same thing, with the same intensity. Both went on to struggle a bit in the bigger class, but figured it out and won championships...also both are smaller guys, rode kawis, and got the red hair! And last but not least, they both seem to have had amazing work ethics and are extremely good at staying focused and keeping their eyes on the prize.

RD did his winning with the world talking under their breath about how certain players were missing...
RV won with all above mentioned players in tact and on the gate...

we will never agree on who had a better year...does it matter? 2008 js7 was one of the best years ever if you consider the 13 sx wins and 24-0 in the outdoors...even better than RC's 24-0 full seasons cause he didn't own it in sx like that...some people don't want to hear that though...

I'm an RV fan, but he's not there yet, he needs a few more years and needs to dominate his competition more to be put in that category. Also, from a personality perspective he isn't RC either. He's WAY too nice to be compared to RC.

RC used to do shit just to demoralize his opponents to the point that they would give up even before the gate dropped. I'm an RC fan too, but he wasn't the nicest guy on the track, which played a part in his success.
