Buck won't be at the door for me anymore. He just started wearing out, and I couldn't stand to watch him suffer anymore.

I'll miss you, Buddy.

Lost my Golden (Cooper) Sept. 30 2010, almost one year ago.

How many years was he your buddy?

Hang in there, guess that's all you can do.

Sweet lookin' pup.

Bummer, losing a dog is a hard thing. I lost this guy:

While I was deployed, It hurts even more not being there for his last moments.

Very sorry to hear this Karl.

Buddies like this are the best. The single most important thing in their lives, is making you happy. They are the best friends ever.

Sincere Condolences to you and your family, and RIP to your buddy.

Fine looking pup kiteboarder.

My Sincere Condolences to you and your family also.
I have a 12 year old Mastiff and Rhodesian Ridge back mix, and her time is coming. It's going to break my heart.

RIP to your pup also.

Sorry to hear about your loss. That’s a really tough decision to have to make. I’ve had to do it a few times now and it never gets any easier.

I have to second that. My guess is that you sleep well at night knowing that you made sure your dog had a good life.
It still doesn't make it any easier though. Damn!

Sorry for your loss. Our pup is just about to turn 12, she's in pretty good shape, but there are mornings you can see she is pretty stiff and sore. She's happier to get home after our walks than she used to be. We have a very tough day coming in the not too distant future, I'm afraid.

I'm sure your pooch left you with as many happy memories as we have.

My heart felt condolences. At my advanced age Ive been thru this a number of times, and I think it just gets harder.

About the only thing I can find wrong with dogs is that they dont live long enough.

As soon as you feel better, and that can take awhile, go rescue another dog. Theres one out there that wants to come home with you.

Again sorry to hear about your Bud, RIP Buck.
Like Dougie said, rescue another we did after our "Larry" passed early this year. We now have a landscaper named "Henk". He is a sheppard mix, extremely loving, and was one day away from euthanasia.
He is into re working our irrigation system, and bush trimming. Seems to be trading that for squirrel and rabbit abatement. Brings us presents every so often. I got a head and half shoulder the other day. It was lovely.

Hey Pete make sure to get some wormer for your pup. Those bunnies are full of them. I have to worm my dogs once a month to be safe .

My condolences brother. I've lost many canine friends over the years and it's always very tough. I just cant imagine how tough it's going to be when it's time for my friend Rosie to go. She has helped me through some very tough times over these past 9 years. Shes the best dog I've even known.

Take consolation in the fact that you made his life great, and he added much to yours.

Sorry man, look at the cool life you gave him and the memories he gave you, some dogs never get a chance to love anyone.

Oh man these threads are always tough to see—and I feel bad for you as I know what you’re going through as I’ve been there before.

I have two dogs right now and are both near the 11 yr old mark. My collie/shep mix has had two knee surgeries and a bad lower back, she’s in pain and last night Jan found a lump in her throat.

The lab mix has Valley Fever and leaky kidneys (I forget the medical term) but for both dogs I give meds and supplements twice a day. It can be a lot of work and makes going on vacations tough—but the reward is worth it ten fold.

I’m dreading that their day is not too far off. Not only will I be crushed but AJ will be too as he follows Mojo everywhere she goes for better or worse…

Pete,
That's funny about the irrigation "MODS", mine haven't worked for awhile....

Dogs really are the most loyal animals on earth and it’s just a shame their lifespan is so short.

The more people I know “especially on here” the more I luv my Dog(s)

Hang in there guys your Dog wouldn’t want you sad for long.

You guys are the best. I really shouldn't have burdened Y'all with this. Saying Thank you doesn't even come close.
Here I am crying again, but I have good news...

Jeager is here,

He was at a tractor supply in town. Some girl had some pups. He's Lab/ bluehealer.
He seems to be pretty smart, but I'll judge that later.
