Then he goes straight to legendary status and is certainly someone I'd like to party with.

Boy, you're a dick rider. We are suppose to like riders just because they are use to having their asses kissed??? Every rider doesn't come off as and ass and every rider doesn't deserved to be given a free ride when it comes to giving an opinion of them. That's just MHO.

Dick rider, or I appreciate their skills on a track and realize they are just people off the bike. I go to the races to watch the guys ride, not pick and choose who I'm going to like or dislike because I saw some interview or read a tweet they wrote. Remember, they just ride dirt bikes. DIRT BIKES.

This isn't the NFL, F1 or anything else like that. It's dirt bike racing in the middle of fucking nowhere. They aren't heroes, just young kids who have been raised to do nothing but go fast on dirt bikes.
It's exactly like the NFL, NBA, F1, and NASCAR in that respect. That's just MHO.

Agree to disagree. I'll see you at the races, i'll be the one watching all the assholes ride a track faster than anyone else can, while you're in the autograph line for the poster and 3 seconds with the "nice guys" of the sport.

We can agree to disagree. BTW, I've never asked for an autograph in my life.

While I pretty much like 99% of all pro motocross racers--I'm usually the guy saying I like all riders to be up towards the front to make for better racing as opposed to picking a favorite for the win--I'm going to play devil's advocate on this one (because god knows Vital doesn't have enough of those already, right?? Evil ). But from the standpoint of pro athletes being treated like stars, and being exposed to all the pro's and con's that are assumed with that label, why is it that when we as fans say we "love" or "hate" certain athletes in motocross, it's frowned upon... and yet in other pro sports like football, not only is it totally acceptable--it's encouraged as being a passionate fan?

Wow, I have way more respect for the last place rider in Pro-MX than I do an NFL or F1 driver. I'd say it's a lot harder to be a pro mxer than a 350lb. lineman or a guy that sits in a car and turns the wheel when needed. I know it's a oversimplification but I think promxer is the toughest of the bunch. Just my opinion. So what if they race "in the middle of fucking nowhere."

Hate is pretty strong word, but there is nothing wrong with disliking certain riders. Some people just rub you the wrong way and it's fun to cheer against them. Not wishing them harm, but just bad luck or poor results.

All time: Stanton, Bayle, Glover

Current: Bubba, Izzi, Friese

I cant say I ever disliked any rider.....
However, there are somethings that riders have done that I dislike.
As for hating on a guys talent though....I think that is pretty lame.

At the beginning of this season I found myself being far too disappointed if RD didn't win. Eventually I realized this and remembered that when I got into moto it wasn't about cheering for one guy. Fanboyism only payed off if my guy was doing the best.

I'm also over rooting for or against riders because of their personality or who their rival is. They all have unique personalities, and each one has something about them that is likable or interesting. I've found it far more entertaining to wish the best for all the riders. That way it matters less who wins - because so do I.

That being said, I still have my favorite (RD), and he will crush your rider.

I do have to give a nod to Nico Izzi, though. On Saturday morning I was by one of the pit gates, when he came cruising through and...

Ah screw it. I hate on Emig every time he opens his mouth in the booth. Please stop announcing before my fond memories of the 90's are overshadowed by the need to shelter my ears from almost certain implosion.

1. Track banners
2. Anyone who tries to justify the overuse of track banners as, "We need the corporate sponsorship and that's why we block spectators views."
3. All the above
