Absolutely terrible, don't know how someone wasn't seriously hurt! As the description says, evidence to support that faster riders and slower riders need to be kept apart on track...

Good god, that was ugly. I landed on top of an 80cc rider when I was on 125cc's when he cut out on to the track. That's a bad feeling for sure.

I hope both are ok.............I've ridden with mixed groups of riders for years.......You have to look way ahead for the kids and slow down when you come up on them. I still think its dangerous to mix adults and kids (strongly) however if thats the way the track has its set up, its the adults responsibilty to keep an eye out for them and adjust your speed (IE DON'T JUMP ON THEM). The parent of the child needs to keep a close eye out also and remove the child if they feel other riders are getting to close or going past them to aggressively..........This sport does produce some idiots on the track (not saying this guy did anything wrong). Thats my 2 cents and 30 plus years of MX........

I know the coulda, shoulda, woulda shit pertains here, but if that double is after a left hand corner a quick look left going into the corner could give a good indication to what is or is not on the other side of the jump.

Damn! Hope they are both okay.

Had a lapper almost come to a complete stop on top of the finish line tabletop at Mosier when I was in a heated battle for first. We were coming up behind him pretty fast and were bar to bar. I wasn't letting off, neither was he. Lapper saw the checkered coming out and decided he was done too, slowed and started cutting across the top of the jump to exit the track. Wasn't pretty and of course I was the one cartwheeling down the track and ended up second to add insult to injury.

I've almost done that before, that was a horrific crash. Gave me goosebumps actually, because that's how quickly things can get bad at a rider at any level. Slow and fast, was she okay?

That's a scary situation. Always gotta keep an eye out for the girl on the ol' trail bike with a license plate, turn signals, and brake light. Glad both parties were ok.
I was at a local track one day on my 125, and I was the only one there except for a kid on a 65 with his mom. I was keeping a close eye on him so I knew where he was at. I knew I was coming up on him, and saw him about 3 corners ahead of me. I came around the corner to this straight stretch with 3 spaced out jumps. Well the second one is completely blind, you couldn't see the landing from the take off, and as I came over it, the kid was stopped DIRECTLY in the middle of the track right on top of the landing and the mom was in the middle of the track talking with him about his clutch or something. As soon as I took off I saw him sitting there and knew I was in trouble. The mom stepped back, and I landed right on the kids back fender. I went carthwheeling and broke my arm. I jumped up and went to check on the kid, only to get COMPLETELY chewed out by the mom. I did the best I could to apologize and explain that I had NO idea he was stopped there, but she didn't want to here it, as I had just hit "her baby" breaking his humorous. I felt bad for hurting the kid obviously, but at the same time, I in NO way feel at fault. It's common sense. My general rule of thumb is this: at NO time, EVER stop on any ridden line of a motocross, even if there is only one other person at the track. It's worked pretty good for me so far.

That's what I was thinking...

Glad to see it said she was ok.
I've seen a 65 or 85 rider get landed on by a 250 rider before, and it was definitely the scariest thing I've seen while on the track. Luckily, he was ok too.

I've done that, everytime I do something sketchy I go "WHOA!" which is usually every other jump. LOL

I executed a super-sneaky block pass on a friend one time at the end of a race. It was so sneaky that, not knowing it was coming, he yelled in fear as I shot across his line. I laughed hard for the remainder of the moto.

It also wouldn't have happened if they had separate practices. The best place I've ever seen for safe practice is Area 51 in Western NY. They split up the sessions by skill levels and everyone seemed happy plus no one got carted off.

This isn't rocket science.

I couldn't watch the video.

Totally should of been avoided if they split skill levels for practices. I understand practice tracks can have situations like this but there should be a notice to slow riders to either stay out of the fast lane/line or get off the track. If you know you are not going to jump a particular jump you should and NEED to move over to the side.

Landing on someone is probably the most scary and nerve-wrecking experience in MX. Its even worse when 65 and 85cc riders get landed on.

She was actually doing a good job staying to the side of the track.

I am a big fan of separate tracks for beginners. If a young rider is crawling around at walking speed, pull them off and make them ride the beginner track.

i know this track!! this is riverdale raceway, over in toulte washington. i almost did this same exact thing to an 85 rider. this track normally does not have separated classes. not a lot of ppl usually come here but unless there is they do split the classes, very rare though..
