Sucks that he didn't qualify. I think now he'll need at least a pair of 10th place moto finishes at Soutwick to keep his number. I know he's great there but as strong as the field is now I think it will be tough.

If he qualifies at the Wick the record will stand at age 46. And that record will stand forever. Unless he qualifies at the Wick in 2012 of course. lol Dowd is legend.

Definitely. And I'd be really surprised if he didn't at least qualify there.

Agreed...bring it. Smile

I talked to Kenny Germain, and he said qualifying at Unadilla was everything that Dowd's not about. Namely, a smooth track and sprint laps.

Jeff Curry tried to qualify today as well. took a digger in 2nd practice that ended his day. Think if he's healed up he's gonna try the rest of the nats as well. Hes pushin 38 or so now i think. GL to the old guys gettin in there and mixing it up.

no offense, but that track was anything but smooth during qualifying. No disrespect to Dowd, he is a legend.

For some reason, Dowdy didn't get in a very fast lap in the first session and I'm sure the track was rougher in the second one. I'm sure he'll qualify for the 'Wick, but he has his work cut out for him getting 10th each moto to keep his number. I'll be bummed if he loses it, but it has to end eventually.

I was watching his son tho, he was riding his dads kawi. He was going pretty good, Idk how pong ago he started riding a big bike.

This was first time at Dilla, but to me, standing on the sidelines, it didn't look all that rough.
