David Pingree seems to be employed by KTM in the PR department because if any one criticises the 350, he is the first one to tell you that the KTM 350 will easily get a holeshot over any 450 Japanese bike. Matthes will back me up on this one. Ping and famous MXer Tyler Keith tested the KTM 350 against 450's and the 350 consistently holeshoted according to Ping. I hope the IRS dont hear about this,
Lommel MX1 moto1:

Lommel MX1 moto2:

All I know is that Cairoli hates riding a 450. He still is more of a 250 guy so the 350 is the perfect bike for him in the MX1 class.
and Jeffro is right, the word wasa that his yamaha 450 was sleeved down to around a 400 as well,
Dont be so critical
Yes he is!
Pit Row
For the 350, if it gets a decent jump out of the gate, it will pull just as hard as the 450's down a straight.
I think the 350s in Europe are bored out and that's why they are doing so well over there compared to here in the US. Alessi, who is known for his holeshots, only pulled 1 holeshots out of 24 starts last year.
The USA 450 bikes are faster than other countries due to noise regulations.
Martin Barr holeshot on his privateer 350 at Hawkstone against Desalle and co.
in motocross there was a time where the 500 was the main class, but then the 250s got faster and the class ended.....
this year in world enduro the most probable champion of the 450 class is riding a 310 and the big bore class is lead by a 480, even ktms big bike is no longer the 525, now its a 500.......
so i guess only a few americans cant seam to understand this and still belive that the bigger the better.......but then again lots of people still belive in santa.....!!!!!!!!!!
