"I am wondering a little about the re-start process... I think it would be better if riders were able to pick up where they left off. It seems that it would be more fair to be staggered restart so you get to start in the position you were in when the red flag came out... Instead of a restart of the whole race... just my opinion!"
I'm wondering if he would have felt that way if Mike would have gotten a terrible start?
I sure as shit didn't remember Tony (or whoever does the newsletter) bitching when they red flagged the Red Bud race when Mike crashed hard and got hit,,,
what a fuggin asshole (not Mike)

IMHO best to leave it alone and just restart the race that's just how it goes not everything is perfect in life.

I really dont understand how people find the concept so difficult. Seems pretty easy to me, if a red flag is necessary, have all the flaggers instructed to wave a red flag and force all riders to keep it slow with no passing. If a rider is seen passing someone else, automatic DQ. First rider starts at the finishline and everyone else behind him single file.
Not to mention no love or get well soon for Trey in his "newsletter."
YES you would lose your 'gaps' between positions, but you wouldn't lose your position...
this is key...moto is psychological, starts are psychological, restarts have a big effect on outcomes...
He will do anything for his kids and I respect that a lot.
I know plenty of riders, that their parents don't give 2 shits about them and I think that is wayyyyyyyyy worse!
He may not be right in every aspect of his kids riding career, but at least he is there! More than I can say about my father when it comes to riding, who wasn't there at all.
Here are the rules:
-Position is determined by the last scoring loop before the red flag was waved.
-The pace is set by the leader coming to the finish line, no jumping before the rider receives the green.
-Riders cannot advance a position before they have crossed the finish line
I'd say yes. Problem solved?
See you on the B squad next year
BTW, OG poster, you are the real asshole! The guy states his opinion but you are trying to twist it around and make him a bad guy. Nice try!
Take those positions and let them gate pick when they line up again,
Pit Row
Perfect world sure, put them in a single file rolling restart. But logistics of that are a total nightmare, and doing it with 39 dudes who have no radio communication is asking a LOT. Not to mention the bitching from guys who saw the red flag early and checked up during the whoops only to be passed by a pack of riders. If you're in a big pack you could easily lose 10 spots.
You're also asking them to sit there and sweat with overheating bikes while you print out a list of the last lap, and watch while you point them out one by one and line them up like pre-schoolers. I say screw that, even as a rider I'd rather load up in the gate right away and take my chances.

They were watering the start when the word came down that they were going to 'Re-start'...so...only the rt side was watered...and got a bit muddy.
As to the idea of some-kind of "Rolling-Start" or letting them back out on the track "in order"...etc.?
Good luck with that.
As soon as I read that newsletter I posted that post....not the best of timing. When I initially read it, it rubbed me the wrong way, but as I read it again, it really isn't bad at all.
I'm sorry to Mike, Tony or whomever for my over-reaction.
