Good vid, not a mark on his neck, wonder if elbows, or anything was skinned up?
Looked like he landed feet first then his backside.
Very lucky

Chad has made a fan out of me this year. I wonder if he will get more positive press out of that one crash than James has gotten out of two seasons of Bubba's World.

He was definitely looking creaky while walking around afterward, and said he was getting more sore and stiff.

Yep, when you absorb that much kinetic energy in a crash the body has a way of showing different signs and symptoms as time progresses.

Great interview. I wonder how many others would have even tried riding, let alone charging.

How is that false? Every crash I've had has resulted in me feeling more sore and stiff later and into the next day.

Honest question btw, not tearing apart your claim. I want to hear the explanation.

BTW, good interview GuyB

Many times after hitting the ground from doing a stunt( car crash, car hit, high fall,or just huge fight scene) I have felt more soreness 2 days later and had lingering pain for months. Chad Reed is a bad ass! Glad he landed on the down slope of the grassy knoll or we may be having a different conversation. Glad the points are still close as well. 2011 has been good!

He seems to have answered the question I posted in my thread: appears as if he's already mentally over it. I hope he comes out at Washougal and goes 1-1 !!!!

Dunno about great interview, but great responses. I think a lot of guys would have begged off, and headed for a long hot soak in a shower.

I hear ya Friday! For me , my wrecks always seem to take a good 36 hrs before they really settle in. It was the same when I was younger.....it just lasts a lot longer now days. Uhg!......seems like it takes forever to heal any more.

Your avatar is amazing. It's better than Chad Reed's crash/ride/heroic ride to salvage points.

Thanks GuyB!
I always been a Reed fan since he was here in Europe on team Kawasaki.
One of the toughest dudes to ever throw a leg over a motorcycle.

I was thinking of this crash (Chads) compared to Tommy Hahns tip over in one of the earlier round wich resulted in a dnf.
It`s pretty funny when you think about it ,but of course I know that it depends how you hit the ground.
Anyway it just shows how badass Chad really is, hope he wins this championship!

What.a.bad.dude.!
Shouldn't the medial crew have forced him to not get back on the bike after that crash? I haven't seen your diagnosis yet and nothing is official without that.

You just read my diagnosis Mr. Bitter: Chad Reed is a bad dude!

ps.
Chad didn't have trouble standing while remounting on the motorcycle. Chad did mention symptoms of a concussion after the race, which as others have pointed out, are the same symptoms women experience when pregnant... In addition, I never said James shouldn't have been out on the track. I just pointed out that it's very dangerous to ride with a concussion, that it looked extremely bad on the Astriks Medical crew throwing him back on the horse, and stuck to my argument that he had a mild concussion. despite some people denying he even landed on his head Blink . I also said if these guys want to ride after licks to the head, it their decision. I said the same thing about Hanson all the way back at A2. One more thing, James Stewart is a badass, too!

You have to wonder about he effect of a landing like that on a somewhat-aged body that's had knee issues a number of times. And you have to wonder about the lingering effects on his willingness to really hammer it for the rest of the year. It's not going to get easier for him, it's going to get harder. His ride was the stuff of legend, but it's unrealistic to think it won't have some effect later on.

The crash will have no effect. While not a crashed, he's good at it.

These guys crash all the time.

He seems to me to think those guys are chumps and wants to punk them.

He's highly motivated. Even more so than sx where he got a late start but was the only rider to throw down the gauntlet all year at any round.

Dude, you've got to be joking. If he's banged up he won't be riding much if at all during the week. It's definitely going to have an effect, but we'll see how much. Hopefully he's not hurt too bad.

He was able to get back on the bike and finish the moto, adrenaline will do that. That doesn't mean he can even ride the bike today, let alone at 100%.

This weekend will be a test for Reed. And besides the direct effects of the crash, he went from a potential 31 point lead to just 6 up. The pressure is on at track he never lists among his favorites.

He rung his bell in '09 at the end of the season pretty bad and looks like he is going harder this year. I don't think that this will slow him down. If he would constantly think about his own mortality out on the track, he wouldn't be racing outdoors this year. He has had more reasons to slow down before this wreck and he hasn't so what's different now? I would think that since he has won at least one moto in every national this year except Colorado that he keeps pushing for wins. I predict 1-1 at Washougal or aleast 1 moto win.
