I guess the only reason they didnt steal his KTM is because I took the engine out this week to rebuild it.... so its down to the frame

From your locked garage? Yowzer! Were you home at the time?

My son left our garage door up the other night, I forgot to check it like I do every night (except this one, of course....) and I didn't even realize it til I went out there the next morning. Nothing gone that I could tell, bikes still there, kart still there, lawn stuff still there, big tool box still there and everything still in place.

We leave some of the cheaper bicycles out overnight all the time, but lock up the ones that are a bit more pricey just in case. But thus far, I've never had anything taken at all and neither have any of my neighbors. Hopefully our luck streak continues.

I was sleeping in my house last night... they broke the window to the garage and pulled the emergency release from the garage door opener and rollled up the door.
no one heard a thing.

My bike has 200 miles on it!!! and my sons bike had a brand new 2007 engine installed in it. My bike insurance is replacing my 2008 Ninja but my house insurance is not covering my sons KX85, so that will be a total loss.

My only little bonus is.... the Ninja is $14500 here in Canada, but I bought mine in the USA for $10,000. So i will make some money on the ninja but lose the KX85....... I should end up on par at worst.

They also stole my sons alpine stars boots, my helmet, 2 jet ski wet suits and a few more things.

They didnt take my pimed out power washer.......... must be rookies... that was the best thing!!

Holy crap! That takes some kinda brass balls and no brains to break into someone's garage in the middle of the night and steal their stuff while they are home. Can you imagine if they would have done this at JPT's house and they woke him up? There would be some burglars laying out in the yard with lead poisoning.Bummer dude, at least you're stuff was covered and you can recoup everything.

Yea... If I had cought them it wouldnt have been pretty. The stuff can and will all be replaced, but I feel violated man. someone broke into my place and stole my new toy and my KIDS bike. Just low!!! no one else on the street was touch so I really feel targeted and violated.

Sorry to read that...what a bummer !

Drill the shit out of the insurance company, they will make a low offer at first...they have the funds to pay full price for the replacements.

Someone from your neighborhood, or one of their friends. They had to know the environment well-enough to feel comfortable doing that. They probably did it in stages, break the window, fall back to cover, wait and then finish it of.

That really sucks man. Sounds like they knew exactly what they were going after, especially when they took the boots etc. It's an odd unplesant feeling when you realize somebody was in your home, even the garage.

Don't know if you've got a dealer in your area, but we had this installed on all the windows after our burglary. Makes a big difference.
