So every other year at my high school towards the end of the year we have this big event during school hours called Spring Fest, with all sorts of different things going, such as Powder Puff Football, Dodge Ball Tournament, Dunk Tank, and School Bands ect. but the best part is our district has enough balls to let us have a Motocross race out in out field and through our woods. They have been doing it for about 30+ years now. and kids bring their ghetto 1980s bikes and quads and everything, and actually have 15min moto's and this year its actually getting sponsored by a Local Shop and their giving out gift cards, and rumor is that the Winner of each class (Fast, Slow, and Quads) gets a free set of either 2011 Fly or Answer gear. I didnt know if anybodys High School ever had anything like that?

my senior year we had the powder puff game and two of the girls got into a knock down brawl and ended up without shirts on. i thought that was pretty cool.

but the race sounds pretty bad ass.

I heard that there is some kid racing that race who thinks he is a hot shot pro rider. Wonder how he'll do. I think he rides a honda. And his V-Tec definitely pops.

We'd have a road kill fry and a skeet shoot out on the football field on the last day of school.

WOW! My hat is off to your school's administration. The students are fortunate and I could only wish we had an event like that when I was in high school.

School wide water balloon fight in the parking lot. We would spend the last month of school preparing thousands of balloons for this. Lots of water, wet t-shirts, fist fights to settle grudges, balloon launchers rigged up to the trucks. It was an all out war every year and every year it ended up as a huge pool party afterwards at someone's house. No motocross race but I guarantee you it was more fun.

Barlow is quite the school. What they lack in academics, they make up for in hillbilly mud racing. Laughing

Never heard of a high school having something like that. Props to your school. Just out of curiosity, do your parents have to sign some sort of liability release?

We (Paramount High School) actually held a motocross race on the campus, 1974&1975

Rode a 1971 Yamaha 175 CT1C, sans lights and baffle, so cool, I was indeed styling. Oh, and a used bald rear knobby.

Tires marked the course, two three foot high jumps, with flat landings of course and a twenty -five foot section of "stutter bumps"(whoops).

We had a Monark 125 and the very first mono shock YZ race the event.

Top that for high school coolness......................"can't touch this..."

AKA my wood shop teacher asking him why we need all that, and his was responce was "so when you get ran over we know who to call" i answered back saying "i think you call the school nurse... then 911 lol"

Not as cool as having races at your school but I'm a high school teacher and several years ago we were studying World War II. We were discussing ways soldiers prepared for battle. A racer buddy of mine worked at a local shop. He brought all thier race bikes and gear and gave a lesson on how to be prepared for the motocross track. I related that information to World War II soldiers being prepared for the battlefield. Then we discuseed the importance of being prepared for life after high school graduation.
