No more insight on PS3 network. You will need it for DLC. Nothing we can do, it's definitely not what we want to see.

Do you seriously think that having a good carrer mode would cut the numbers in half?

Look at games like GT5, GRID, SKATE which are considered "simulation" do you really think that people play the career mode over and over again?

No they dont, they prefer to skate one spot or race their favorite track over and over again.

Seems to me that what Alive has done is taken a system that works and that is to gain points to unlock gear, tracks etc.

This is a much simpler way to get what you want without having to do all these ATV or Trucks races etc to unlock everything.

I for one am happy that i can gain points from racing online, this is great and makes it very competitive on a USER VS USER point of view which is where its at right now.

They are going for longevity on this one and to achieve this you have to please the consumers by giving them something new every couple weeks, i for one am looking forward to seeing what they have in terms of SX tracks, new gear, new bikes (maybe).

As long as there DLC pricing plan isnt as expensive as say the COD series then they should have a WINNING formula.

Just for the record I will buy this game as I do with all my games.
I have a friend that works at a Game shop so I can get the games cheaper and quicker Wink
I lied about downloading the game.

After playing it some more I will give you some positives about the game.

Turn off assists it helps big time.
The game as with all games gets better with time.

1. Collision system is really improved. The short course tracks is nothing but bar banging.
2. The lean angle of the bike is greatly improved Inside corners feel real.
3. Games loads very quick compared to reflex.
4. Sounds are very good.
5. You do need brakes you cant hold it pinned the whole track.

There are also some major problems as well short course T-boning, Rider position, Framerate, etc

I hope the Online multiplayer is rock solid. Ie quick games no waiting for others.

Fuck Sony. The only time I pre ordered and paid in full for a game in my lifetime and it's all DLC based and no online. The May 31st date is just to passify the owners. It could take them months to make it work again. They have lied about every date they have provided. Why would this one be any different? I really need tires for 2 bikes but fuckit Im buying a xbox tonight. Fuck Sony!

Dang ReedyMX this really made you eat your own words there bud, but glad you had the courage to go back on what you said in the Game room.

So to me looks like its a good game when you get used to it, funny that! I seem to recall the same thing happening to Reflex.

It looks pretty good to me! shit all MX games have some flaws and if the worst thing about it is goon looking riding, then shit i say it's a winner, by the way rent before you buy and then you don't have to worry if the games is a dud!

I think that site is full of BS to be honest, i troll most of the PS3 sites and havent found anyone backing up the whole 31 May theory.

I think it will be back up next week, personally.

Just play the first person view and you won't see the flagpole rider thats it!!!

Another steep forward in MX gaming according to the video.

like peelout i was at the THQ Summit..... like peelout, i really like the game.... and like peelout, there isn't a guy at THQ with a gun next to my head

the demo is not a fair representation of how good the game is once you've unlocked certain things.... me and my friends have got to level 17 so far and we're enjoying it.... and that's what games are about - enjoyment

i'm not trying to change people's minds.... as i don't need to.... doesn't bother me if you don't buy it or not, but to judge it from a demo version.... really?

Same engine with a few refinements, and a lot of tuning.

Bikes have more weight, lean over more in corners, more overall traction, smoothed everything out so it isn't twitchy, and so on.

Hang on a sec, in the games room you basically said that you were done with it, and in this one your saying that after playing it some more its better.

Just makes me laugh that you said the game was junk and you were only up to level 10?

Now that you have played it some more you have given more positives than negatives, so which is it then? Is it good or is it bad?

I can't wait for this game. I stay out of all the discussion, but not because I don't have strong opinions. It's because it's so frustrating arguing with a bunch of grown men about a video game that has not come out yet. I guess that's why I didn't get a free trip to vegas, as I love these games, and I'm a huge follower and supporter, I just don't choose to argue in circles on a internet forum about it. But Peelout's a champ, and his trip was well deserved.

Here's my opinion: Is you entire video game experience really centered around one thing such as rider position? People keep drawing comparisons to NFL an NBA games. Well there's only one NFL franchise and only one NBA franchise, and both of those have a larger budget each year than all of the MX vs ATV games put together, I'm sure. But nonetheless, those games aren't perfect. I can count a thousand things in Madden 11 or NBA 2K11 that look so awkward or incorrect. That's just part of video games, a part that has come a long way. I think most of you are far too jaded to see this. Look at Madden '06 and Madden '11, and tell me that, although still not perfect and some times very awkward, it's not 100x better in that five year span.

Same with these MX games. I have Unleashed and Superfly and MX 2002 and MTX Mototrax and Reflex. Shit, I have Supercross 2000 around here somewhere. (I need supercross circuit for my collection btw, so if anyone has a copy they'd like to sell for a negotiable price, PM me.) I go back and play these games from time to time, and the nostalgia feel is great, but more than anything it opens my eyes to what great games I have now. You talk about the rider position in Alive being bad, but people give that flailing ragdoll from MX Unleashed, with his nuts hanging off the back fender in the hoops, a free pass. Or how he hangs his crack off the side like a quadtard rider when he rails a bowl turn at 65 mph, that's all fine and dandy, but all of the sudden the guys at Rainbow are a bunch of goons who have never touched a dirtbike before?

I'll admit just like any other, the ride positioning in this game is pretty off. Just like it was in Reflex. And Untamed. And Unleashed. But Reflex was great, and Unleashed were great. That's my whole point, there's so much more to a game than the tiny things you guys are knit picking about. I, as well as Peelout and whoever else, notice these things, just the same. But it's not enough to make me eject the disk from my seXBOX360. What is enough to make me eject my disk was the unpredictable crashing from Untamed (something that has been fixed) and the icy, crazy, collision and bike physics from Reflex (something else that has been fixed). Stewarts compound looks amazing. Supercross looks like it will be something that will keep all of us hardcore fans coming back for more and more. Asked for realism? I'd say you're going to get it with Supercross.

Hell, even the topic of this thread title! Who cares about what trailer they're showing at the damn races?! Go back and look at the trailers from past games. They're goofy. If the trailer directly reflected the content of the game, I'd understand being upset, but in this case, wtf difference does it really make?

Bottom line, this game looks to be promising, and from what I've read from like-minded folk, I won't be disappointed. I've been watching plenty of the videos that have been coming out, and I cannot wait for tomorrow. I'm headed up to my good friend and riding buddies house 60 miles north of me to play all day. I'm gonna buy it as soon as my bank account allows me too, and I'm sure I'll be more than satisfied. Because after all, the whole gaming experience is a lot more than just how the rider sits on the bike...

Well 1) there are people that dont have online 2) some that have online dont want to be online all the time (myself included, I played 3-4 races of my Forza 3 career today for example 3) I didnt say anything about truck series or even using ATV's if you just want to do mx career that is fine, dont like freestyle wouldnt have to do that either 4) Having a career does not mean you need to unlock stuff...what I would do is have career so that you can purchase bikes for yourself or have teams offer you rides like MTX Mototrax...you dont need to unlock anything in career in my opinion though having some stuff would make it a challenge

For a career I would enjoy starting in the ams and riding whatever kind of bike. Then based on my performance in the ams I am offered a factory ride, semi-factory ride, or no ride at all and I have to race my own privateer bike and have to pay for parts, gear, etc and move up from 250 east or west then do 250 nationals then maybe defend, race different coast or even pull a reed and jump up to the big boys for second season keep going until you pass mcgrath in sx or carmichael in all time wins, reed with podiums, etc

I feel sorry for the people that read your post in the games room, i for one would not trust your judgment on a game as you seem to be really all over the place bud.
Negatives (from the game room)

Very Cheap rush job.
Elbows and back are very bad. You feel like you are goon riding not ripping.
Short course is flat out tacky. Figure eight tracks WOW.
Very hard to crash no skill required.
No career mode.
Have to reach level 10 before unlocking more tracks but winning on every unlocked track will not give you level 10 so you have to repeat the same track.
They seem to make a big deal about bike customization. Great I just unlocked the blue graphics.
This is the worst Moto game I have ever played.
Reflex is way better.
The RonRon Iphone game is way better than this game. Atleast they have flowing SX tracks.

Positive

The above is all true.

I admit it does sound all over the place.
Sorry about that.
Overall I am dissapointed with the game and was expecting something better.
Once you buy the game you can make your own judgement. I was just trying to give people a heads up.

Thank you for clearing that up, so sounds like you are still disappointed in the game.

I will be sure to make my own judgment when i get my hands on the game this Friday for us here in NZ.

Too bad your on 360, would have liked to race you on PS3.
