Sweet.  Me and Sis went to see him in '77 on the 'Im In You' tour.    She had been playing that live LP for the prior year non-stop at home,  so we both had every song on the live LP burned into our brains, so that show we attended was basically a carbon copy of the live LP with a few of his new tunes thrown in.  Bet that one you saw was really good.

Shit that’s not even a top 10 Zeppelin song. That’s 1 of there worst.  I like Zep but VH with Dave is 10x the band. Better singer, bass, drummer & guitar players f ing blow Zep off the stage.  Social Distortion has more better songs than Zep.  Like this one. Just not as commercial as zep .  I shot pool with Robert he,s cool & a Great voice on other songs.

There is No such thing as the best song ever. Because there’s countless songs that r great from all kinds of music.  Flock of seagulls has a few huge hits that get player every hr yet.  Paul the guitarist is a genius & the best player & dancer. Sounds funny but dancing was always a part of rock music from the 50,s to the 80,s.  Us punk rockers & new wave kids Really went nuts .  Sounds like Paul is playing from outer space in this 1. And this I ran has great guitar sound too, new yrs eve concert.

VH is 10x the band as Zepp? Pfft!! Total album sales say differently. Not even close.

Thats badass,  would have loved to see The Guess Who back then,   my Dad had one of thier LPs and I played the drums to 'No Sugar - New Mother Nature' all the time.   But seeing Farner et. al. back in those early years woulda been incredible.  I can remember like yesterday when 'Loco-Motion' came out and it was blasted in a pool hall I used to sneak into to play pinball.  For some reason,  I can still remember there was a big Carol King 'Tapestry' poster beside the pinball machine on the wall.

I was lucky,my older brother gave me the ticket. He was going to Idaho to screw around. We were never close and still aren’t, but the nicest thing he ever did. Actually the only thing (except torment me) he ever did was.

You and my mom would agree on this. Sure, she’s in her 80s; but, The aband was always her favorite. 2nd favorite? The Stones. 

Presence seems to be a maligned album, but is probably my fave.  Achilles Last Stand, Nobody’s Fault but Mine, For Your Life…wow.

In The Evening is probably stil my favorite Zep song.

Zep was more marketable to the masses = higher record sales - which are cooked #,s.  Rolling stone mag got into trouble trashing Zeps live shows like Jimmy P is a lazy guitarist, the drier is too bombed etc.  I watched Zep live in the 80,s I always thought they where boring live anyway I watched them.  Johns style is cool but Alex is a million times better drummer.  Eddie destroys Jimmy.  Dave come on thd Best front man ever & a better singer. Robert,s ah ah replicating sex gets old.  There a band for grandpas .  AFOS or FOS way ahead of there time musically. Paul was 17 kids at school said he was our age 15.  Paul is a genius listen to that song / man made live , great futuristic jam the song after that is tits too.  Space age love song too that was futuristic at thd time too. I hear that & I ran every day on the radio yet.  I ran solo & whole Lot of Love solo r in the top 10. Summer that’s all u here is new wave at service plazas & ts.  Pay attention at peak shopping times they  play  new wave to get u in a good mood

It was on Night flight a pre mtv show & public television a lot .  I did sneak into the arena in 8th grade 78,79 .  There was concerts most weeks back then I thought Rush was Great live in 8th grade.  Guess what I heard stopping for food supplies at a very busy ts.  I ran by FOS 

Hey Boom - Re Stairway To Heaven.

From 1989 to the early 90s,  there was a Comedy / Interview show on the OZ ABC TV station called  The Money Or The Gun, hosted by Andrew Denton. Denton did some great Interview / Comedy / Political shows in the years after The Money or The Gun - his dad was Kit Denton, a noted Journalist, TV Presenter, Producer and Author - he wrote 'The Breaker' about Breaker Morant. Some think the Movie, Breaker Morant , was based solely on it, but, it was only a part of the source material - it was mainly based on a play. You'd perhaps know of the movie, as it was based on events in the Boer War. Though, it was not filmed in South Africa, but, South Australia, by the way.  

One of the staple parts of the show was various Singers / Groups / Actors doing their version of Stairway To Heaven.

Some versions were bizzare, / funny / horrendous, some, just Incredible. From C&W, Operatic, Reggae, Elvis Impersonators, Spoken Word, Choirs and on and on. I daresay, a Lot of Led Zep / Rock / Metal fans would be rather upset by many of them.........

I found one of my favourite singer / songwriters doing it - Robyne Dunn. In her version, she was done up a bit like Alice In Wonderland, but, that really wasn't her 'look'. She's a supremely talented singer, that few know about. And, gorgeously cute  - though, she was quite young in that performance. Those big Googley Eyes are something to behold in person. Doesn't hurt that she looks like she could be the twin sister of the Love Of My Life, though, she, RD, is about a foot shorter............... 

She lives in the mountain community behind me,  I get to as many of her concerts as I can - just a spectacular voice, and a great entertainer. She, and  few other noted OZ female singers - Wendy Mathews and Cate Ceberano being just 2 others (Kate's on that listing of STH on YouTube) get together at times, to do concerts, and they are always sold out. When they do them at the Sydney Opera House, they are amazing. 

I was not familiar with her music, but I just watched her version of stairway to Heaven and I gotta say I’m very impressed. The intro sounded very similar to Lucy in the sky with diamonds to me. What a great voice.

Yes - the Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds type intro was a deliberate part of the 'arrangement' by the programs Musical Director - I only know that as I discovered a 2002 interview with her last night, after I wrote that novel length post. .
