Transcribed interviews, as promised!

Edited Date/Time 11/21/2023 9:16am

There has been a few topics here about written interviews and I promised an improvement on that front, so here it is!

All of my interviews from the Paris Supercross are available in written form.

Ken Roczen, Jett Lawrence and Hunter Lawrence...

Cooper Webb discussion about YZ450F challenges.

Jo Shimoda on his SX2 victory and CRF250R debut.

Cullin Park on riding on four continents in one month.

Josh Varize on his Stark VARG debut and 2024 plan.

Going forward, any post-race interview that is written will have "transcript" in the title to make sure that it's clear for you lot.

It is a lot of work, but I believe it's important. It's lazy to not do it, IMO, so I'm hoping this will become a part of my routine...

Hey Lewis not sure of your process, but in my comms work I use an app called Otter.AI that is a recorder that automatically transcribes, then you just export it. Hell of a time saver! Keep up the good work on the Sexton Ship!

Ai doesn't really work for me, because of words like "holeshot" and broken English from some guys.

Honestly, typing them up isn't too bad. It's super, super tedious... It's okay once I'm in a flow though!

Thanks!

I'm sure it is pretty boring to type up but I truly appreciate it Lewis, always prefer reading to listening for post race stuff! Time for a raise

I'm the same! I like watching/listening to long-form content, but don't care for YouTube videos/podcasts that are seven minutes.

Paris was a day later than an AMA race, so if I work like this week then you should have all transcripts by the Monday evening!

thank you, sir, I don't think I've ever made it through an entire video for a post-race interview, they just don't do "it' for me. But I read each of these all of the way through and enjoyed it.

Yeah, when I watch a post-race interview then I cheer for it to end. I don't know why. It's nice to read at your own pace!

Glad you and others have liked them. The reaction has really confirmed that I need to follow my gut and get this done.

Love the written interview !  I enjoy being able to re- read a quote, to be sure I am comprehending the point the writer or rider is trying to make. This is why Vital is my go to spot for information regarding SX/ MX. Much thanks Lewis.

Hey Lewis.. 5$ you used a LLM (ai) to transcribe that.. if not.. you should..

You can actually automate it so of every upload you get the text.. read through,, fix errors.. work done..

I've tried Ai with transcriptions and the clean up takes far longer than actually typing it up from scratch (using half speed).

It's tedious to type up, but more tedious to clear up Ai. Ai fixes would be faster for those slow at typing, but I'm pretty fast.

For instance, @Darksidemx3 uses Ai when he types stuff up. I got him to test my way this week and he admitted it's quicker.

No one would think it's quicker, on surface, but it is. The main problem is it's a lot more boring and takes commitment, haha.

Yes, when using a transcription software most of my time is spent deleting all the “likes” and “kind of’s” as well as fixing all the words it doesn’t understand. When I just typed it from the audio I didn’t have to do any of that.
