Has anyone heard of any tracks opening up for practice in the SoCal area the Friday before A1? Can't seem to find much on track websites.
Elsinore, Perris and Pala are typically open on Fridays. My daughter will be in town, if not I’d be looking to ride as well.
Is that some kind of holiday? Why won’t they all be open?
They are all not typically open evey day of the week. Different tracks have different days they are open and closed during the week. It is possible to ride 7 days a week however.
Unfortunately all the tracks websites suck! You need to check their social media for accurate schedules. Thank god my wife let’s me check her Instagram to see if tracks are open. More then once I’ve shown up at Pala only to find a Loretta’s or Mammoth qualifier going on and the track has been closed to the public.
With that said, tracks mentioned above “should” be open.

I’ll stay in a hotel after supercross then wake up & go ride Sunday. Probably working that Friday but Perris Friday would be a real good move & their new website is up to date with their schedule from my viewpoint. I also check their Instagram off my gf’s account here & there & it seems to have most current events.
Perris is the place to be!
Perris for fun Friday sounds like the move. That place has been all time lately.
We should do a vital forum ride day.
We can have pizza and a sprocket bolt tightening seminar.
Only if Peely is the instructor for said sprocket bolt torquing seminar.
However, I’d be down for Vital ride day.
Shit im in for a vital ride day.
How's the weather looking? We we're thinking of driving down from Oregon in the next couple days but it (from what I am seeing) looks like rain almost every day? Don't the tracks usually shut down when big rains hit?
I live ten minutes from Glen Helen, it rained pretty good last night. I'm at Cahuilla riding right now and it's pretty damn soupy. Looking like more rain next week as well so may want to hold off.
That's unfortunately what I suspected. Nor Cal is getting cancellations as well. Just going to wait until this weather pattern is over.
Thanks for the update.
Yeah - been watching the weather as me and a couple riding buds are/were planning to head down Monday to ride some of the tracks Tue - Friday but the weather is looking very wet.
Have not made the call yet if we are cancelling - but it is getting close.
Nice, hope you are able to make it out. Weather forecast has been changing literally every hour So I would just keep an eye on it before canceling. Hoping the weather is good for A1
We are still a go but will make the call Sunday to get the latest weather report. Today look like potential days towards the end of the week but hoping we can ride early in the week as well.

anyone have up to date track info - looking for Pala, Perris and Glen Helen. Are they good at wet track prep?
Check Pala and Perris instagram the day of. Glen Helen check the website or give them a call. Both Pala and Glen Helen can handle a fair amount of light rain but if it rains heavy for a short period of time they’ll get washed out. Not sure about Perris and how it now handles rain under the new owners after doing new sloping and grading. You should maybe look into a Wednesday ride at Cahuilla, they can handle a fair amount of light rain as well.
Thanks. I think we are a go and looks like there will be some days for OK weather. Also will check out Cahuilla.
Depends on how the rain hits also. For example, pala had to close yesterday due to rain but perris was awesome. Pretty deep ruts but no slop.

Perris was great yesterday and Cahuilla was today as well. We are on a moto trip out here as well right now, will be interesting to see how the rain cooperates the next few days. Update this post if you decide on where you are going!
