Any of you out there that have had knee replacements have the x-ray before the surgery was done? Just got the images of mine from today and it’s worse than I was hoping. Ugh. Much worse than just three years ago. The second pic is of what a healthy knee should look like that I found on Google.

DAMN!! That knee is FUCKED!
I've had one different but same.....painful!!
Knee rx April 12 2023....
Would ride but atm I'm still enjoying walking...
I WOULD do something stupid at 63....lol
Anybody got a spare bike around me?!? Haha
Did you ever have surgery on medial meniscus? Medial compartment predominant osteoarthritis. Some inward/ varus deviation of tibia. Kind of “bow legged”. Are you already scheduled for replacement ?
You might want to crop or blur your information.
Do the DaVinci method....
Computerized surfacing and cutting..
My knee when they had it out looked like shit!! Hahah. Dr. Took pics and showed me

I had the same experience with my hip. My femoral ball was all chunked up and looked nothing close to normal. Doc told me "you're walking on a broken leg." (It felt like it). Finally got a hip replacement and changed my life.
Doc once showed me an X-ray of my lumbar discs compared to normal and they were all beat up too. Funny thing is, they don't hurt and I'm fine. The human body is an amazing thing. I'm sure you'll feel much better after getting that done.
I’d assume X-ray before surgery pretty standard. Yours looks like mine did, put it off for years. Been about two years since full replacement. Some days don’t even notice it but it’s not the same as my good knee. Can’t run. Tho I moto w no issues. Looking back I shoulda gotten it done sooner. 54 now.
Yes I had the meniscus cleaned up ten years ago. Yeah I immediately saw the deviation of my tibia in xray which was kind of shocking. I can definitely see a slight outward appearance of that, but not drastic. No replacement scheduled yet as this xray was from today. We'll see what my orthopedist says. Pretty bummed when I saw this. Was hoping another clean up would get me by for a few.
Still riding on this one, it hurts every day now, I”m trying to go another summer before the surgery….
My right before 2nd replacement, now got a matching pair that done really match as my left was not totally successful
Just get them done. Mine looked like that and I had them both done at once four years ago. Best move ever. Most painful three weeks of my life but PT’ed the heck out of it and was biking ten miles in three months. I’m in a long term study for the prosthetic manufacturer and get free follow up.
BTW they X-ray to get the sizing correct to order the proper parts.
I'm getting another cortisone shot in my knee. They work for about a year, then it starts flaring up again.
Here’s mine. Doctor said to exercise and get some strength back in my leg with the pins, which has helped. He says knee replacement is a last resort. I hurt every day
That looks painful…still ride?
Unfortunately no. Even with knee braces it hurts and swells up after a day of riding.
I tell my wife if there was one thing I could do, it would be to ride regularly again.
Both of my knees look like that but worse. I had the left one replaced in 2013 and the right knee was replaced in 2016. They both work great. No pain at all.
Been bone on bone for 30 years, 3 surgeries , 65 now. Do Crossfit 4 days a week and walk at least 3 miles a day. Knee actually seems to be doing much better with all the walking. When I get a pain flair up I take 3 Alieve and I'I'm good until the next flare up.
Still ride?

Sorry for so many post, I need a replacement, been putting it off. I am concerned that I won’t be able to ride anymore…some say no issues, others say no riding….
Sorry man, that sucks, those screws look painful…
Do yourself a huge life change benefit and cut all that shit out. Put in two new joints and enjoy! Yes it hurts…. Big time but you forget you even have them in 1-2 years
Up in Canada I finally got to a surgeon 2 1/2 years after being told I needed new knees. I had x-rays done at the beginning, and when I saw the surgeon I asked if he was going to order new ones. He said not until the last minute as he could tell I was screwed (in his words) from the old pix and new ones would just be depressing. I asked which leg to do first, and he suggested we toss a coin. Got a new left knee two weeks ago, and its been a serious pain in the knee so far, but working hard to get things sorted quickly, as I just got a date in April for the other one.
The true tale of woe comes from those very few animals who elect to get both knees replaced at the same time. A buddy of mine was one such psycho. He ended up having to hire 24-hour full time care to get through the rehab. Fortunately, he could afford it.
It wasn’t that bad but everyone has different levels of pain tolerance I guess. Not saying it didn’t hurt, my PT was a Iron man competitor, she made me cry every day. Using a walker and upper body strength helped for the first few days then I threw that thing away. I couldn’t wait to get back in my truck and go to PT instead of her coming to the house. I was walking the pt stairs in the hospital less than 24 after OR. The techs said they never had a double do that before. 🤪
Mines "On the to do list" but I can stil mtb work and ride so I keep putting it off.
Do your guys wobble around ? And does a replacement tighten it up ? Mine moves around quite a bit, I feel it the most when I'm swimming or bodysurfing, it kind of clunks and knocks. Doc said no acl, mcl, or meniscus. It still works "good enough" although it is getting worse. Good luck Bad10 let us know what they say / recommend. Here's a couple videos that show the movement. Your guys move around too correct ? Curious to know if the guys who've had replacements had theirs tighten up after surgery.

Still ride. Still hurts. Only live once.

After replacement
I just had my right knee done on Jan 3, a TKA. My recovery has been horrible... I'm 5 weeks in and cant get past 75deg flexion. The pain is fucking unreal. Doctor is now talking about putting me under again and "breaking the knee loose". I'll be back to just like I was immediately after surgery and starting all over. My knee wouldn't move... And still doesn't. Very reputable surgeon done at Mayo Clinic.
It's so frustrating, this is my 4th knee surgery and all of the others, I recovered in record time. Not this time.
This is my philosophy…….but Ihave come to understand MX”ers are not that intelligent 😂
