What kind of chili isn’t racing?
Most likely options for the top 10 teams of last year:
USA: Plessinger, Deegan, Hampshire. Back ups or other options: Sexton (if interested), Barcia (if healthy), or any Kawi-guy.
France: Febvre, Benistant, Ferrandis. Back ups or other options: Renaux (if healthy), Vialle (if healthy), Paturel, Rubini.
Australia: J. Lawrence, H. Lawrence, Evans. Back ups or other options: Beaton, Ferris, Todd, Webster.
Italy: Forato, Adamo, Lupino. Back ups or other options: Guadagnini (if healthy), Bonacorsi, Monticelli.
Belgium: Geerts, L. Coenen, Everts. Back ups or other options: Van Horebeek (if interested), Van Doninck (if healthy), S. Coenen.
Spain: Prado, Oliver, Fernández. Back ups or other options: Braceras, Farres (if healthy), Martínez.
The Netherlands: Herlings, De Wolf, Coldenhoff. Back ups or other options: Vlaanderen, Van de Moosdijk, Elzinga.
Germany: Tom Koch, Längenfelder, Spies. Back ups or other options: Roczen (if interested), Nagl, Jacobi.
Switzerland: Seewer, Gwerder, Guillod. Back ups or other options: Brumann, Tonus (if interested), Greutmann.
Great Britain: Watson, Gilbert, Mewse. Back ups or other options: Wilson, Sterry, Rizzi, Bruce, Hammal.
Edit: Germany made a shortlist of 7 riders: Ken Roczen, Maximilian Nagl, Simon Längenfelder, Tom Koch, Henry Jacobi, Maximilian Spies and Noah Ludwig
Anstie is a no go. Great Britain is likely to be Watson (MXGP), Gilbert (MX2) and Mewse (Open).
Belgium is likely to be Geerts (MXGP), Lucas Coenen (MX2) and Everts (Open on a 250 or 350).
I'd be shocked if Ferrandis goes. Renaux will be back by Turkiye, so he is a shoo-in for the team.
The Shop
Looking a strong Belgian team at this stage. Surely this will be Gilbert’s first time? Australia strong obviously, could even see a Swiss podium though.
Ukraine can send a team but FIM Europe cannot organize a ride including Gajser?
Gajser will be riding for Slovenia
You've got some dark horse-countries like Latvia with a possible line up of Jonass and the Reišulis-brothers, Slovenia has two good riders with Gajser and Pancar, there are the young guns of Norway (Tøndel-Horgmo-Østerhagen) and then you have some riders who can go for individual succes (McLellan for South Africa, Weckman for Finland, Gifting for Sweden, Kullas for Estonia, Haarup for Denmark, Stauffer for Austria,....)
I'd like to see that. Last year no Slovenian team entered.
Because it was in the USA. Way too expensive for smaller teams like Slovenia, Denmark, Austria,...
FIM Europe and FIM Latin America made their debut last year as MXoN-Teams. This was meant to give some smaller nations the chance to delegate a rider, as many of these smaller nations won't travel to the USA and InFront wanted a decent amount of participants. On the other side teams like Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala etc only participate at USA- or Southern American-based MXoN's and never travel to Europe (or Asia).
Thanks for the info, Lewis.
Another question: as Cole McCullough is from Northern Ireland, is there a chance he gets selected for the Irish team?
The Irish team for the MXON is combined North and Republic (south)
Gordon Crockard is northern Irish, for example
Team Canada
MXGP: Dylan Wright (Honda)
MX2: Ryder McNabb (KTM)
Open: Jess Pettis (KTM)
France would be silly not to choose Vialle. He’s a 2 time world champion. He’s struggled this year in the US, but at Ernee, it would be silly to not go with him.
With Benistant out at the moment they may not have many other options. The next best guys would be Rossi in EMX250 I guess.
Unless Ferrandis races and someone like Reneaux drops down to 250
Best choice, does that mean Dylan is capo
Capo? If you mean captain, yes.
Quick question for my GP friends. I'm going to preface this by saying I think Paul Malin is the best announcer in our sport. I'm sure he has done his research but is he actually pronouncing the Coenen brothers last name correctly as well as Sacha's??
Pit Row
Yes Captain. It only makes sense for him to be Captain, legend
Absolutely.
Ferrandis is a big question mark for Ernée; actually a lot more than Renaux.
How old is Cody Cooper? I feel like I remember him trying to qualify at Budds in ‘08 on an RM.
Insane that Ukraine is sending a team.
He's 39.
Pretty sure only mx and rugby have combined all Ireland national teams
The Czech federation has made a shortlist of riders aswell: Julius Mikula, Vítězslav Marek, Jakub Terešák, Dušan Drdaj and Václav Kovář are nominated.
The info i got at last czech national round was a bit different.
250: Vítězslav Marek/Julius Mikula
450s: Jakub Terešák/Petr Polák/Jan Wagenknecht
But... Wagenknecht allegedly reinjured his knee so who knows... Kovář is back after almost 2 years dealing with back pain and not riding. He was always fast but his fitness is not yet there... also he is riding on 2smoke whole year and it's not the most reliable thing in his hands. It would be rad to represent the 2stroke taliban but the safest picks (if healthy) are MX1: Terešák, MX2: Mikula, OPEN: Polák.
The ultimate goal is to qualify directly. B-final is brutal.

Team Ireland updated.
Martin Barr (MXGP), Glenn McCormick (MX2), Jason Meara (Open). Stuart Edmonds is reserve. This will be the 17th time Barr races at the Nations, after being selected for the first time in 2005, when the Nations was held at... Ernée.
Team Belgium confirmed: Geerts in MXGP, Lucas Coenen in MX2 and Everts in Open. Sacha Coenen is the reserve rider.
solid
the youngest Team ever i think?
