Can anyone elaborate or point me to a source so I can educate myself. I am pretty sure they throw out one result so 5 of 6 count toward the result. Also did they not do away with the in class scoring and change it to actual finishing position regardless of bike size? When it comes to the bikes and fuel is it a mish mash of AMA/MXGP rules? I used to be on top of this stuff lol.
Three guys race two times. They get 1pt for 1st, 2pts for 2nd, 3 for 3rd and so on. They are scored against everyone in the race... Each team gets to toss their worst score. Add up the 5 scores and lowest score wins.
I'm under the impression that the fuel needs to be FIM legal... not sure about the rest, sound test, etc..
AFAIK the main rule change from FIM is the MX2 rule of max age, 23.
It’s raced under FIM rules i.e. MXGP.
Race scores are counted in actual finish position, not by class. One moto from the six is discarded to calculate team score.
Drop the worst score and tally up all the finishing positions. Lowest wins.

I certainly hope not. J Coop is 28.
It's different for MXdN.
I knew that three guys each race twice and you toss out the worst moto score of the six. Been that way for a lot of years. But I think it is fairly recent that they changed up from scoring within your own class to actual finishing position in the moto. Still curious about the fuel/mechanical stuff but it sounds like it's FIM fuel wise. And as another poster mentioned they evidently wave the age rule in the 250 class. That age rule could have left us in a tough spot!
I didn't word that well, but I'm saying they aren't enforcing the FIM age limit of 23 for MX2.
I didn't think they had to follow the fuel rule here in America. They didn't when Fim sanctioned Supercross
They do still score the classes and award a class champion.
Like in 22, JCoop went 9-4 for 13 and P1 and Hunter went 8-10 for 18 and finished P2 in MX2 class.
Lowest score from 5 results...
Sound levels need to meet FIM standards...
Yes there's no 23 age cap for MX2 in MXoN, except for the standard 50 years old.
