Im confused on how he got his pro points.  He is shown to have raced two races in A class since LL.  Only one of them is a Pro-am based on the AMA pro-am schedule?

Winning the futures and the combine will do that...

That's interesting so he was earning Pro points as a B rider?

I agree that he is fast enough but DC made a big deal about N. Israel going from B at LL to racing pro and now Cochran is doing with only racing 4 "A" motos.  Deegan also hustled to get his points before racing last year at Ironman,

No.

What it accomplished is that it proved he was capable to compete in the pro ranks.  I'm assuming the team/Casey requested an exemption.

This makes more sense he is obviously capable I know much slower riders that requested an exemption and got it!

Isreal didn't even attempt to race a Pro-Am.  Casey did last weekend and won all 4 moto's.

He only got 19 of the 60 points he needs last weekend, so he must be getting in under "discretionary approval".

I was under the impression that by racing as a “B” rider in futures and the combine you are not eligible for the pro points that are awarded to “A” riders. I could be wrong but I thought I read or heard that somewhere

Breaking news: being amateur doesn’t mean you’re an amateur, top B riders are right on par with top A riders and factory riders will always be able to get a license with a recommendation from certain sources.

I could care less just stoked he will be lining up, ML said he will do the same path as Deegan and race SX next year!

You're correct.

Futures has zero impact on his outdoor license.

Also, if you race the futures as a B rider you get ZERO points towards your pro supercross license. That’s why Casey will have to race at least one futures race next year before racing the east coast.

I have no problem with people not understanding the rules but y’all respond as if your information is fact when it’s incorrect.

I also don’t think people realize you need two pro license. One for sx and one for Mx. You get sx via futures (and mini o’s but I believe they wanted to remove this option) and mx has many options. You qualify for Loretta’s in a pro class you qualify for your license or you can race pro am races and get your points like Casey and deegan had to do.

Ama claims they won’t do that anymore. I have no idea how but I’m guessing there is more to the story.

But he didnt get his points is the confusing part.  He raced 1 pro am and went 1-1 in Open A and 1-DNS for 250A.  Thats not 60 points or even close to it.

The tracks and the pro am races r the best racing in the country. I just found unloading in a alley in Chicago. A 4,000 purse for a 125 alll star race at Doublin Gap track in Pa. 6,000 for pro am. A lot of Great racing at 12 pro ams this yr yet.  Ew gotta go I hv to shoot someone here

Our system is broken. No way should kids be riding the B (intermediate) class then going straight to the pro nationals. I am sure Casey will do fine, but it’s the point of these kids riding the B class, they are NOT B class riders.

I agree that’s the weird part.

I looked it up, he has earned 19 points.

Some are saying he can earn points from the combine events but I haven't found that anywhere.

They are paid per overall finish and even then he would need a double points paying event to score enough.

I guess ama changed their mind about allowing exceptions. A year ago they claimed they wouldn’t do that anymore.

Anybody else think it's ridiculous that you can race a "B/C" class (Schoolboy) and a pro national in the same month???? Not hating on Casey at all, just the system seemed a little flawed...
