It's on my Birthday this year so my wife and I are going. The last time i was there was with my son for the incredible MXDN in 2007.

We are looking for cool things to see Sunday and Monday in or around DC. Any ideas would be aappreciated. Thanks

Hit up that Air n Space museum. Go past Budds down to the coast, check out Solomon’s Island area. Those two shall keep you busy, also that motorcycle race… Enjoy !  *Lookout for Amishes on backroads, yo IMG 7627.png?VersionId=RJr6bnZ90 aEnwVBv2RuZQf

Well you should be able to move around more than that race in 2007. I always recommend walking around all day from different perspectives. Not a bad spot on the track to view.

The air and space museum and national mall are all together in the same area. Walking distance. You can visit other museums, the monument, the Lincoln memorial and Jefferson Memorial.  The US Capitol is also within the same area. The White House is a few blocks away but not very accessible for obvious reasons. But if you are willing to go thru the wait and security checks the tour is great. The Nationals play maybe 5 mins away if you are into baseball and as bad as they are they may let you play. Enjoy.

The air and space museum in Chantilly is the one to go to, 20 minutes west of DC, it has all the cool stuff. The one in DC isn't as good unless you're a kid, but to cousinskeet's point it is next to all the other DC stuff. Georgetown and Alexandria are my favorites if you're looking for a food/pub crawl.

You can spend weeks learning history from all the museums in DC.

GO you will not regret it!

I live in Baltimore area and have been to DC at least 40 times.

That being said, some of the best museums in the us and the world are right there.

Enjoy the traffic!!

The Air and Space museum in Chantilly I think has a lot more to look at. You'll get chills standing over the Enola Gay and will be amazed at just how big a space shuttle is. Also, the SR-71 that set a speed record by flying from L.A. to D.C. in an hour.

And as someone else mentioned, the USMC museum is close and is in my opinion the most well put together museum I have ever been in. But I may be a little biased there...

There is a new Army mueseum at Fort Belvoir, you just have to signup before to get tickets it’s free though. The USMC museum at Quantico is cool too. You don’t have to sign up before going. It’s free as well.
