This is a good start. Finish when you are ready. You are on your own timeline, no one else should steer your ship for you.

EDIT - I actually genuinely mean this. Don't mean to be snarky. As a dude with a deep ass monotone voice, my in person delivery often doesn't come across as I intend either. Probably why I shut the fuck up haha.

Have a good one, dude.

Dear diary….
A member mysteriously popped up in non Moto the other day. His name is Timmy. Or, is it Tim E? I don’t recall. Anyways….

Edit edit edit….

He works hard to troll members here. He thinks very highly of himself. Edit edit edit….

Actual Edit: Maybe try acting like a fucking adult instead of some dip shit troll seeking attention. Initially, I saw common ground with you. I can typically find it in most people here.  That went out the window with your ass and, here we are..

When I was 13, I'd walk along the creekbed in NJ with my friends and we'd collect golf balls that found themselves in the water. We'd fill egg cartons with balls and sell them back to all the rich golf dudes. This was not DJTs course, but the Fiddler's Elbow course a few miles away.

We had fun, made money, and cleaned up the environment.

Value engineering.

We spent summers scrapping shit. We'd drive all over finding stuff to tear apart, drag out, and scrap for money. Destroying shit is fun, we made money, and we cleaned up our community.

Value engineering.

And we did all this immersed in our own world. Self serving, keeping ourselves occupied. But I realize, I made the world around me better, too...

Be the change you wish to see in the world. I was accidentally decent at one element of this, but completely sucked at the human component. That is what in focusing on now, personally.

I worked (illegally) on a farm stacking hay at 13. I made cash (no tax), and used this money to buy my first RM80.

I hope you folks have a good day. Life is pretty fuckin sick!

EDIT (self serving)

Saw this family while eating lunch by myself. I'm on my phone. All three of them are sitting together, glued to their phones. We are eroding our ability to connect on a human level.

I don't like this part.  But it's an evolution that we all kind of involuntarily got wrapped up into eh.

What makes you any different than them when your first instinct is to, pull out your phone and, take a picture? Lacking accountability I see…

Keep up the good work and, have the day you deserve.

Well, not really...If you re-read, I acknowledged I was on my phone as I was typing on it, and taking a picture. Continue to see the world as you wish to, it is your right.

That was my instinct, given the thoughts swirling around my head at present. I've been seeing a lot of White Accords lately. My apologies if this offends you dude, not my intention.

We are all a contributing factor to the world we are now living in, in some form or another. A big machine is the sum of small, unique components.

All the best.

Self serving, bra!

Remember. You are (unfortunately for you) my people. This is where I come from.

In the age of influencer people, and an increasing awareness of "haves" and "have nots", the world is getting pretty shitty. I think we've also bred a generation of narcissistic people, that have only known a world where the separation between reality and the digital world is more and more blurred, or non existant. Everyone is obsessed with showing how much cooler, better, etc. their life is. I am also guilty of this. Life isn't always highlight reels, and we are inundated with them nowadays. And now we have  Ai highlight reels entering our fucked up wave of consumption.

And people find courage behind a keyboard, they would not otherwise have in person. Myself included. Though, I still talk shit in the real world, and I've had my ass beat accordingly.

Hell, we're seeing the first generation enter adulthood that grew up in front of screens. And it fuckin shows.

How many posts do you have?

EDIT (additional comment). I have been a member here, and have read these forums, since the early 2010's. I maybe have a few hundred posts.

How long have you been here? How many posts do you have? Who's actually spending more time trolling people? I've been typing out thoughts here. Self serving, for sure. But if it helps anyone else, in whatever way it does for them, I feel good about that, personally.

Have a good one.

Eh, we're probably not all that different. We march to a different beat, for sure.

EDIT - You are correct. I do work hard. I do not have to work hard to troll trolls, though. Doesn't make it right. And not something I want to turn into my MO. But for me? On my journey, this has been really useful.

Borrowed this from Luke. Who seems like a legit dude. I've appreciated his thoughtful exchange here, even if it was meant to trigger me at times. His exchange did cause me to reflect.

QUOTE

Of all the trolls here (yes I am one also) you have been the least engaging, for me at least. Not speaking on behalf of anyone else. I do enjoy collecting knowledge from experts, though.

I appreciate you for this exchange, also. Life is a sum of your experiences. Take a chance, challenge yourself and collect more, like Pokemon...I never fucked with that stuff, shit is gay. See, I assign shit to strangers too in my world. I never gave the Pokemon community a chance, cause I already feel strongly I would hate it.

Remember, stay on topic and 100 words or less.

We have faith you can accomplish that.

How about you start a topic or two and try out your newfound wisdom please.

Thank you

Thanks dude. The world has been telling me to shut the fuck up since I first started spending time in it. Easier to live in your own world, too. But that isn't what it's about as you miss one of the coolest things about life. Deep connection with other life.

The second I started finding my voice, everyone said I was fucking annoying. They are not wrong.

But I'm kind of done sitting back and shutting the fuck up, too.

I appreciate your posts here. I know way too many vital members names, because I have been lurking and reading here for a pretty long time. Hell, I remember way too many produce codes from when I worked at the grocery store 20yrs ago. I couldn't tell you what I wore yesterday.

I guess I just got too immersed in the motocross stuff. This was my first endeavor into non moto. Because of a topic that resonates with me. Self serving shit!

I like shifting, I like using a clutch. It's nice to have options. Don't make it only Stark Vargs. That would be boring as shit. No air filters is nice, though.

No matter what happens, I think I'll figure out something to nerd out on and find motivation in.

I guess my goal, maybe, is to stop removing the human element from everything we do and interact with. Our world is doing that way too quickly for us, already. And I am also guilty of contributing to this, too.

Thank you for being a key component of this Vital engine, brotha!

EDIT (too many words)

In my reality, I spend a lot of time and energy making machines behave as close to humans as possible. And I try and combine humans and electro mechanical systems. So they talk to, and work together in unison, even though they speak very different languages.

And no two stumps (amputations) are the same. Often time it happens in emergency environments, with not the most skilled or experienced doctors doing the job. Then we try and make life happen again, as normal as possible. Fascinating shit! Self serving, but also serving others. Value engineering.

First builds on the hydraulic cylinders I designed shown below. I also programmed and cut these parts, too. Self serving for sure, I fucking love this stuff.

I also fucked up an expensive dyno setting the test up. I'm great at breaking things. But I'm also decent at fixing things. Probably because I'm so good at breaking them.

Working with SKF to design some new seal lip profiles. Amputees don't want to hear any mechanical noise whatsoever, not even seal drag. Kind of took me back, as I thought sounding like Terminator would be fuckin badass. But I'm ignorant, and learned.

1000003248.png?VersionId=VhXoMpgD5EKjr IrYSfUq8

That’s some pretty cool stuff. You made those parts?😎

That’s cool, I started working in the summer when I was 13 too. Washing service customers cars at a Lincoln dealership. You 💯 correct about that family on their phones. I think it’s played a huge part in erosion of the family unit.

You go to a concert, which is $2,000 nowadays, and 80% of the people there are so focused on capturing the video on their phone, most of them forgot to actually enjoy the moment they were in, in the real world.

Im from the old relic generation,  we hate phones and at the most hold up a lighter at a concert.

Every time we got to a restaurant,  we are amazed at entire families sitting around a table,  every single one of them staring at a smartphone.  Parents included.

I dont even bring the damn thing in with me.

Dogs are smart. Mine calls me out on my shit. He swats my phone out of my hand regularly haha.

Agreed. Where did all the 13 year old kids grinding go? We've built a country where parents are obsessed with developing insanely polished mini professionals from a very young age. Work smarter, not harder... Why waste his time with work that is beneath him? In reality, I think you need to learn and understand hard work, first.

He needs to focus on programming, and developing useful skills...Just kidding, computers do that for us now. But I experience these types all the time, in my world. Highly decorated on paper, mostly useless in reality...But a mountain of debt.

Kids have packed schedules, doing as much shit to get into some elite school, that costs a TON of money, that doesn't actually provide you with actually useful skills anymore. College is largely a money making racket, where a lot of schools put emphasis on sports, as that creates highlight reels and brings in $$. In a highly connected world, you need to be increasingly specialized to find success. And that is not realistic for 340million people. We need people in all facets of life, and every job/contribution/etc. that makes our world tick, is important.

I know why the youth is burned the fuck out...

I was at Notre Dame a few years ago. Should be state of the art, they have a TON of money. The engineering department looked like it was from 1985. My shitty vocational college in PA was way more state of the art...

They have since rehabbed their engineering department. It probably got 1/100th the funding of the new addition on the football stadium, though.

My lady's dad worked at Princeton Advanced Physics lab. It looked ANCIENT in there, too.

Thinkin and stinkin. This thread has gone off the rails anyways haha.

EDIT - Yep. Scratched on paper, eventually modelled, and programmed/machined the parts. Had our first test pilot walking on it a few weeks ago and we are in the ballpark. That was a very cool feeling.

Louis CK did a bit about cell phones at concerts.

It is fuckin bizarre, and we are all guilty.

Imagine you 20 years ago, observing the world of today. If you just flash-forward to now. Its pretty wild. How much shit changed in the past few decades relative to the past few hundred years...

Shit, everything is so expensive both parents have to work. And they are probably fried at the end of the day. I completely understand why kids end up in front of screens and that time creeps up quick. Who is actually connecting with your kids?

I think everyone being really worked up in the world of today, is actually a very necessary thing. As Luke helped me understand, the light may not always present itself in obvious ways.

I was the last generation during this transition. Cell phones became common around 13/14yrs old for me, when I just started HS Facebook became a thing. By the time I finished college, the social media world was a whole new world within our existing one. And it brought all sorts of new positives, and negatives with it. Us humans are great at shaking out negatives, and further developing them.

I saw what you said before the edit. I don’t really care. I was just taken back by how shitty everyone has gotten to each other in here. I don’t comment a lot because I don’t think I’m real smart and don’t have a lot to add to the conversations. I read everything though. I think TMac is alright. I’ve grown to like wombat. I’m having a fuck of a time in life right now and there’s not a doubt in my mind if I reached out to either of those total strangers that they’d make an effort to offer solid advice to another stranger. I’m 37. I’ve spent plenty of my time being a fucking prick. Gotta break the cycle at some point. I often get pissy when I see Apple man or early with their snarky shit but I don’t really have a counter for either of them. They’re pretty bright guys. Uh oh. Dummy here is typing too many words. I hope I don’t have to come back and edit. I’d hate to have the pitchforks and Molotov cocktails out for me.

However I must ask again, do you consider it patriotic to burn the American flag?

Understood, and I respect your opinion. I will make sure no pitchforks are dispatched.

However I must ask again, do you consider it patriotic to burn the American flag?

I am quite a ways off from burning a flag myself. I still have a sliver of hope for our country. However, I understand the context of what wombat is saying. If the constitution allows it and the Supreme Court isn’t losing their shit about it then I guess it’s fair game. Not something I’d do. I am going to go put my flag up tonight while I rip a doobie and make sure that flag is upside down. We are certainly a nation in distress right now.

I’m glad to hear you say that it’s not something you would do. Enjoy your evening and your doob. Anyone that burns the American flag IMO is the furthest thing from being patriotic and also what many would consider to be an act of terrorism. History shows this is usually perpetrated by those who have been indoctrinated into a false belief system stemming from the Left extremists.

No one asked me. But I bet the vast majority of people here would be quite pissed to see someone burning a flag.

There are a lot of other ways you can voice your opinion. We Americans are an insanely patriotic bunch.

EDIT - I do remember as a youngin, we had a worn out flag that got very tattered on the front porch. My step dad showed me about burning a flag then. In this instance, it was Patriotic I think. We took a moment to talk about why America kicks a lot of ass, and respectfully returned it to earth. At first I was very confused when he said we need to burn it to respectfully dispose of it.

I'm just glad I didn't apply that lesson to other facets of life when I'm tired of shit haha...

Did you speak to them? Did you listen to them? Or do you just assume that because they're protesting your beloved Cheeto in Chief that they have no idea.

From an outside perspective, I've seen plenty of reasons for people to be upset with the current government

Watched many interviews from the plethora of live streams that were going on for four days. Some of the comments would be hilarious if they werent so tragic. Pathetic display of pseudo protesting, waving the flags of the countries they have no interest in returning to, while burning and looting in large numbers.

Super chill, though.

I suspect you were too busy huffing paint thinner to pay attention in school. Canada and the US are about as involved in each other's business as 2 countries can be. What affects you affects us. If the US fucks with Iran and gets bombed in return, guess who gets to go Article fiving our way back to the Middle East right beside your troops.

From a Canadian perspective. We see a guy who's ruling by EO, going after the judiciary branch for resisting him, and ignoring the supreme court HE packed. He's acting like he's king, hence "No Kings." Now ,he's doing things you like, so you don't see a problem with it, but if Obama or Biden had done the same you'd be LOSING it. We also hear all the 51st state talk, that's definitely our business, and we can't count on your system of checks and balances to stop him.

So yeah, its an outside perspective, but its definitely our business as well.
