For some reason, Newsom is still a useful idiot to the democratic party (probably because he's easy to control), so I doubt he gets tapped for VP. My guess is it'll be someone they want out of politics like Buttigieg. Him and Kamala are both so bad at their jobs, and so unliked by the party that after they get wrecked in November, they'll just fade off into obscurity.
