Trump needs to carefully navigate his way through this new dynamic, especially if Harris picks a strong VP (read: white dude from swing state). Vance is looking like a not-so-great pick now that Biden has bowed-out, as he brings almost nothing to the campaign and will woo very few swing voters. Trump is now the oldest candidate, which also changes the narrative a bit.
A Trump-Harris debate will have a very different tone. Her professional career was built on constructing and delivering compelling cases against opponents. Trump may be best served by avoiding a debate altogether and not risk looking outsmarted. Not that it will have any impact on his base, but this is a battle for swing voters in swing states.
