Are you mad about the Matthes thread with the posts about the communist manifesto getting deleted?

Not in the least. The man asked me what commie crap was and I showed him. I don't see the problem. It was a single picture not posts. But like I said before free speech seems to be getting short in supply.

Why are you wanting to argue about "commie crap" on a motocross forum? Were you discussing Gennady Moiseyev or something?

GuyB had no problem at all with politics in moto, as long as the post matched his politics.

Some of you need to get a grip on reality, holy hell.  I didn't always agree with his political leanings or moderating decisions, big deal, it was pretty damn easy to stay out of the BS and avoid getting clicked back when Guy B moderated.  The lack of self control and sense of entitlement you guys have is just mind blowing.

I don't know the guy and I only met him once in passing at a SX race years ago, but he seemed like an alright guy to me.  The fact that you guys developed such a hard-on for someone you don't know and probably have never even met is a reflection of you not him.

Does that apply to the way you treat me?

I was gone for the vax thing for a couple years.Interesting how he treated that deal, but it was libtardmx at the time. I know people who got clots and died from it. I know others who died whom were medically mistreated. I don't regret not taking it. Gibbersons term running this place was more of a mess than I thought it was...... Much better place now.

That's great but what the hell does it have to do with motocross? Surely there are other places you can have those discussions where the subject matter matches the environment?

I did three rounds this season...likely the last three I'll shoot. My wife and I are planning on a move to the PNW in the second half of '24 that will make shooting SX not nearly as convenient as it has been to this point. Depending on when we make the jump I may hit either Fox Raceway or Washougal this summer, just for fun.

Certain members here like to sucker other members into controversial discussions so they can use that against them later in case you didn't notice. LMAO!

Honestly I have some warm memories of Gibberson, like when he fell for the TYLER's mom thing. That should be in the HOF!

Being a moderator is a shit job.     Been there, done that on another big board.   Moderation has to be practiced level-headed and evenly.   People who can do that are very hard to find.    The board I moderated had a round-table of mods who would vote on punishments/banishments.       That can be dangerous thing if the round-table isn't a good mix of all views.   Not all our mods liked each other...that way it wasn't a little high school gang of the "cool kids".

There was a point system.   Most points were warnings and they would fall off after a short period.  Some points were permanent...and once you reached the maximum points, you were gone.       Some very egregious violations hit the max points first shot and those people got cut.

Mods should be anonymous, that way there is noone to hold a grudge against.        Yeah I know, the admin of a board isn't going to be anonymous.     Admins of the other board stayed out of moderation due to the trust in the people that person appointed.

That system worked very well.

Yep, I can't argue with that. A lot of times when someone got clipped, it was after warnings. There were times when I'd do it to just get people to stop what they were doing (again, usually after a warning), or to put an end to some argument between users. I figured if they wanted back in badly enough, I'd hear from them. Sometimes I'd forget about it. Not a perfect system, but sometimes necessary if I was working on some other content and didn't want to deal with a flare-up that would be huge by the time I got done with "real work".

On forum software like phpBB there are automated tools in place to specify how long users will be sidelined, and automated responses to let the users know. We didn't have that here.

That aside, I am kind of chuckling (within limits of my broken ribs) about the absurdity of how, after being out of the driver's seat for two-plus years, people are still butt-hurt that they weren't allowed to talk about politics on a motocross forum. Wink

A change. A few years ago, my wife suggested that we needed to find a place, "With more trees and less people." We've settled on a location we like and will probably rent for a bit before buying a new place.

Imagine walking into someone's house, taking a dump on their coffee table, then getting offended enough to call them out publicly after they throw you out. That's half of the people posting in this thread...

He clicked people for having a personality, not only for political views he didn't agree with.

It was random sometimes. It depended on his mood.

I've said before, he behaves like somebody who got picked on when he was a kid and he moderated in a revenge fashion.

Don't be fooled into thinking that the whole west of I-5 corridor shares your views on censorship.

The "less people" areas will not appreciate you. Its wise of you to rent at first.

In all fairness....      You clipped my 1st account over COVID/Vax discussion.   That was on me as it was against the rules..... BUT...others on this forum were allowed to promote their views openly, ones which aligned with your views on that subject.     No denying that is the perception of a fair number of people on this board.

I waited a long time before signing up again.      My 2nd account, you clicked me for saying I was using an Adblocker.   That was crap.   Perhaps part of it was due to me being an outspoken person....but still.

I'm not holding a grudge....I'm not going to lie, I think things are handled better around here these days.

I have always enjoyed your photos of the racing action.

Peace.
